UT-Arlington game

This team is very interesting.

it’s looking Pierce may have saved a few dudes season. One more guy to go. Keep building with the other 3.
 
I think we just might be looking at a significant difference in talent with these two teams. Just maybe…
 
and sharp ground ball hit back to Hurley and an easy throw over to 1st to end the inning. Hurley sitting right around 40 pitches after 4 innings, if youre doing the math, its not hard :smile1:, thats around 10 pitches per inning, Hurley being efficient tonight against a respectable UTA lineup.

Maybe, sometimes you're just on and the other team is off. like you said, Hurley has been dealing the last couple of innings.

Hurley has good control over his curveball, he usually does. I’ve long thought he should be a weekend starter. The rub on Hurley is that he usually doesn’t go many innings. Also, some may question the effectiveness of a steady diet of his curveballs against a really good batting lineup….? He walks some batters, but not much more than our other pitchers besides Gordon and Shaw.
 
We are tough to keep off the base paths, Thomas and Campbell have been super hot the last couple of weeks, Powell has been Powelling and GG and PB have been pretty consistent.

Putting EK behind all of them helped, the offense is just about doing what I thought was possible. Keep this up and get Galvan and or Flores hitting coupled with LBJ and Gordon, we are a top 5-10 team, extremely dangerous team.
 
And Flores may have just showed us why he may be a great option at SS, ground ball to O'Dowd, quick flip to Flores, the runner is in the way, Flores has to double pump and get a clear shot then fires a strike to Thomas for the double play. A run does score.

Next batter hits a high chopper OVER Flores, clearly couldn't reach the ball to score another run. 4-2 Texas still.

Flores has a gun for an arm.
 
After 5 innings, last inning we surrendered 2 runs. This is about where Coach usually would pull Hurley. I say put him back out there. Yank him if he starts to get in trouble.
 
Yeah, Daly is a heck of a defensive player, no knock on him but I don't know if he gets that double play.

Agreed but first walk/hit with less than 2 outs and he should be pulled
 
and PB does his job as a leadoff again and starts us off with a single. EK up, see if he can do his job here.
