UK may vote to leave the European Union

It isn't quite the same as Wallis Simpson, but it's in that ballpark.

But at least WRT Wallis Simpson, King Edward could claim he was abdicating for love since the COE was not going to allow him to marry her. That is not the case here.

Yeah but I just didnt want to start yet another thread. And this one doesnt get that many posts anyway

Did you see the look on Harry's face?

He is absolutely P-whipped. It's obvious. Now, that's not a total loss if you're getting the P, but being P-whipped typically involves an initial bludgeon with a gradual tapering off that leaves submission and compliance to the female's wishes fully intact while she tucks away her money maker for occasional "maintenance" on his frame of mind.

Of course, if you're a dude the way to counter this (at least to a point) is to up your game in the bedroom so that she's as dependent on "maintenance" as you are. That turns the tables. It takes some work, but it can be done.

Yes... it takes a bit of work. You have to romance her well before the lights go out. You have to keep her feeling beautiful. You have to keep the feeling in her heart that she is the only woman in the room when you're out. You have to understand that foreplay is the relationship and the flirting you integrate into your personality. It is who you are. A man who is thinking of her needs and desiring that she be completely satisfied. Then when the time comes you will find someone who wants to reward all of that but instead of accepting the reward, you reward her first.

Of course, life has a way of getting in the way of all of that. Work, kids, stress, health issues etc can raise those walls and you might think she doesn't deserve all of that. And she might not. But if you get to that point then it's for all intents and purposes, it's practically over.

That is funny.
Ever since Mr D quaffed much scotch with him I have paid attention to him. He seems a cool dude.
Wonder what he will do now.

Deez, every time I see Nigel Farage on TV it makes me think of you. I still think that was a cool experience.

Deez, every time I see Nigel Farage on TV it makes me think of you. I still think that was a cool experience.

Three years later, it still blows me away. I've hung out with some high-rollers - not because there's anything great about me but just because I was involved with the right political organization at the right time. If any of you have college aged kids, they could do the same thing. None of it compares with that night with Nigel Farage or even comes close. It was one of the greatest evenings of my life.

If you think about it, he's an incredible and somewhat ironic story. When it comes to winning elections to office, he's not overly successful. He has held his seat in the European Parliament for awhile. However, he has run for the UK Parliament seven times and lost every time. As a party leader he got some people elected to local office and did very well in EU Parliament elections. However, in all the years that UKIP and the Brexit Party tried to get people elected to the UK Parliament, they only got two people elected (both party switchers), and neither were particularly consequential. Both are gone now.

It would be easy to just give up, but he didn't. He became the fiercest advocate for Brexit when it was considered a crackpot idea that had no chance of ever happening. When he joined the EU Parliament back in 1999, nobody took him seriously. It was the Tony Blair era when European integration was viewed mostly favorably in the UK, and the Conservative and Labour Parties were largely pro-EU. Nigel was a joke in most circles, and he'd admit that. However, the guy busted his *** and worked every angle he could and used every platform that he could to make Brexit a mainstream idea. It worked in a huge way. He didn't do it alone by any means, but he took on the issue when it was damn near nothing and when the rest of the political class were mostly shunning it.

I'm not sure what he'll do at this point. Maybe he'll quit and go home. It would be hard to blame him. The guy accomplished the policy goal of his life. How many people can say that? My hope is that he one day gets elected to the UK Parliament - perhaps as part of the newly-pro-Brexit Tories or as a member of a third party.

Amazing vid. Thanks for posting
Loved, "Britain can't be bullied"
And vis a vis globalism /populism.
He made the point that in Europe and America populism is becoming popular.

Mr D if you watch who is that fat man Farage says he is glad to not have to see anymore? They showed this sloppy fat man sitting ??

That's Guy Verhofstadt (from Belgium). He was the European Parliament's key Brexit representative and one of the most vocal Nigel Farage haters in the Parliament. He's also one of the most smug and obnoxious figures in the EU - a first rate ******* and example of everything that's bad about the EU.

The vindictiveness of the EU during this process is unreal. Sort of like the Dems and Trump. Constantly surprised of people who are emotionally dependent on government.

You should never judge a person on appearance alone
but in his case his azzholeness is pretty obvious.

He is weird looking - kinda fat (by European standards), big gap in his front teeth, and straight hair parted in the middle.

I actually dislike him in spite of his looks. I kinda like when somebody who looks like he'd be a flop in politics finds success. He earned that ******* title by being one and a very big one at that.

They were unreal. However, I do understand. Their entire reputation is dependent on making Brexit difficult and making the UK suffer. If the UK easily left and thrives, why would anyone stay in the EU?

Honestly, what I'd like to see is the EU reorganize and become what it was supposed to be, which is a free trade area/common market.

It was funny to see the Brits stand and wave their flags while she tried to get them to sit down.
It sounded like Nigel said so what are you going to do? Kick us out>

maybe not but he should have.
The Common Market seemed like a good idea. too bad the Euros screwed it up.
I am an anglophile today.

Again, easier to transition to a new normal if not emotionally dependent on the old model.

It was a good idea. It helped even out European economics in a healthy way, and I can admit that it was at least a factor (though not the biggest factor) in the continent being largely peaceful since WWII. However, they got greedy and power-hungry. It wasn't enough to have a free trade zone. They wanted to have open borders and an oppressive and unaccountable regulatory regime with a few extremely arrogant bullies running the whole thing.
