What "rights" did these people lose? There is a fundamental misunderstanding of the 1st amendment. It protects you against the government infringing on freedom of speech and courts have said that is no absolute (e.g. screaming FIRE in a crowded theater). Twitter is a private company. I don't have any "right' to the platform.
NOTE: I have edited this post.
The problem is that many believe the media has become an extension of the government. Your argument is a strict constructionist argument. Twitter as a monopoly (along with Facebook) wields too much power. Liberals typically hate monopoly's. For some reason they're good with this one in this instance.
Does Twitter have to abide by Federal law? Are they receiving money from the government? Where do we draw the line when we know for a fact that Liberal extremists were allowed to post tweets with impunity?
There were millions of political tweets over the past four years and Yahoo began posting them on their homepage as if they were a single source of credible (I.e. THE TRUHT) information. They bludgeoned the airwaves with Liberal opinions. Every day. Constantly.
I know, because Yahoo is my email and my homepage.
