Twitter

Twitter and Facebook oppose the First Amendment. Supporting them supports killing freedom of speech. Honestly 8, I’m shocked you don’t get it.
I get that part, but the platform works for what I want and I use it and enjoy it to my benefit
If we abandoned everything that had some element we object to what would be left? Probably not much imo
It's easy to be selective in our moral objections but it is hypocritical if we examine it honestly

At least you admit you are part of the problem. You are addicted to it. Break the addiction for the good of people and yourself and family.

I’m calling out Joe too. The liberals on HF try to cancel you. Thankfully Dion allows free speech as long as there are no personal insults. Wake up.

This Joe or that other Joe (the one with the ridiculously wealthy son)?

If the current Joe, how is he supposed to prove beyond any reasonable doubt that Mark Zuckerberg is actually a lizard if he doesnt have the Bee's twitter feed?

The Bee parlays as well as tweets, so I'll shoot that one down. Maintaining your status as a recruiting guru would be difficult without twitter. Life might be difficult without free speech.

How it started and how it will end

Just out of curiosity, how many of you have actually left Facebook and/or Twitter for Parler or MeWe? I may open an account because several of my friends at least claim to be leaving Facebook and Twitter, and I want to keep up with them. I just wonder how many will actually do it at opposed to just keeping both accounts.

I created an account on Parler during June but still have my Twitter account...I have noticed a decrease in traffic on Twitter as well as some dwindling follower counts. However, there are some issues with the Parler interface I don't care for...and it isn't exactly friendly with my phone's OS.

I just opened one on MeWe. I have had one on Minds for years but no one I know came over. I will get a Parler account, but stay on Twitter/Facebook until there is critical mass.

Left Facebook, and never ever had a twatter account.

Have not replaced Facebook with anything.

I created a FB page years ago to get discount tickets to the Byron Nelson. The info is fictitious. I have never posted anything on it.
I do use it to go to friends' pages.
I do not like social media.

I once created a Facebook page of a squirrel several years ago. It's still there.

I was rarely on twitter and cancelling it was easy. Facistbook was harder because I did use it to communicate with friends who lived far away. I looked over my Facistbook posts and probably half of them were flagged or blocked by facist checkers. What was flagged or blocked? Jokes (memes) about Biden's dementia, anything regarding Hunter Biden or James Biden, and most of the pro-Trump posts would have a flag that stated something like - this is disputed, click here for info. So I said my goodbyes and cancelled it.

When I cancelled twitter, they said I have 30 days to come back and reclaim my account, and sorry to see you go. Facistbook wanted to know why was I cancelling, don't I want to reconsider, don't cancel - just take a break - blah, blah blah. Pretty damn needy for facists.

Like I said elsewhere, the RINOs grill the CEO, and yet this crap still happens the following week. Yawn...someone remind me what Congressional do besides waste time?

This one seems slightly different. The timing suggest they HAD to have been watching him on TV and suspended him for that. He cannot possibly have violated the Twitter Terms of Service while speaking publicly

Liberals today are the modern Brownshirts

No, that is what I meant. Obvious thumbing of the nose at the Ted Cruz et al destroying of the CEO. Big deal, nothing happened to him and it is business as usual.

Im with horninchicago. Maybe there isn't anything Senators can do. If not, they shouldn't berate business owners. Cruz and others should focus on removing social media companies' legal protections around censoring content.

Why do liberals hate the first amendment? I know the libs here are intelligent- why are they not fearful of losing their rights?

What "rights" did these people lose? There is a fundamental misunderstanding of the 1st amendment. It protects you against the government infringing on freedom of speech and courts have said that is no absolute (e.g. screaming FIRE in a crowded theater). Twitter is a private company. I don't have any "right' to the platform.

Actually TWTR is a public company and they have set out certain obligations in the SEC filings. They ARE opening the door for litigation by shareholders as arbitrary action in silencing conservatives without any manner of due process harms the value. Further, this goes to demonstrate that TWTR is acting as a publisher, something that they lack the proper ability to do without running afoul of their 230 protections.
