Trouble in Paradise?

What is a little weird about college sports is how its passions can motivate rudeness and even cruelty among people I typically see as good folks. I had an Aggie friend ask me about the reason behind the "Poor Aggies' Chant. "Don't you know we're already feeling low?"

Yep..we know. I offered no excuse. I'll never chant that chant..

Some of this chant bleeds over from poor okies.

Crockett you are a good and balanced poster here. I get it, we should always beat them with class. However.

Understand your response and defending a few friends and decent aggys you know. I count several around me including one that is a close friend.

However, because of low life aggys I have known over my long life and their BS and their FULL THROATED trashing UT.....it is hard not to belittle them.

I literally must know every 2 percenter because they agree. this midnight yell went viral and made aggie look really bad.

Thanks for sharing. Love it... aggy self hate. Many get IT, and are trying to suggest / find a better aggy identity / image in the college football world.

I suspect the aggy infighting, bickering and name calling will go on for a long time. Far too many odd and established traditions to go away anytime soon.

Just watched my aggy neighbor hanging his aTm flag on his porch. I yelled across the street 'Loyalty in the face of massive disappointment, that's to be applauded!' He yells back 'Hey sip, do you know what they call an aggy 5 years after he graduates?' I've been around a couple of years and I know the punchline to that joke is 'They call him Boss'.

But I couldn't help but answer back 'A sad, disillusioned clown still waiting on a football trophy and dreaming of jizz jars atop a bonfire?'

He instructed me to do something to myself that is anatomically impossible and walked back in the house.

I perceive that your neighbor is also your best friend?!?!?!

An aggy tried that lame a$$ joke on my boss one time who is a Longhorn. My boss retorted "Dumba$$, no, then it must be Gaping dumba$$!"

Not near as creative and eloquent as yours, but the aggy's response was similar.

More aggy gold. I'd tell the guy, we're not that way with everyone; just you guys and BlowU.

That T-Sip "insult" is something else. I see it all over the place. I made the following comment on one FB thread. No comment back from anyone:

"Having lived in Austin for 30 years I can safely say the term t-sip is not considered an insult by Texas fans. It does not rise to the level of being mean because it does not arouse negative emotions or feelings of inferiority; only a perplexed, bemused look on their faces. It's kind of a, "Is that supposed to bother me," type of a response. When encountered, it invokes no more than a curiosity as to the origin of the obsessive use of the word. And no, I didn't go to Texas, I went to Trinity. I'm the ridiculed t-shirt fan because for me, they are the home team. Hope that helps."

Aggy uses T-sip like we call them Aggy instead of Aggie.

The game is over. As usual we kicked their *** in their own backyard. Even their coach admitted it was an annihilation. No reason to talk about those douche bags until next years game. They are the epitome of irrelevant.

I’ve never had to refer to an aggy as boss. Now I have had a couple of superiors who are UT Law (which may be why they hired me to begin with). I don’t think there’s any aggys in our firm, in any capacity.

Me neither Mr. Jones. Most of my career I worked under and around Longhorns. However my last boss before I retired was an OU grad. That said, she was a very decent person and a good boss.
What I did see a lot of in my career was aggy hiring aggy when there were better qualified candidates for the same position. This was a crying shame, but it is just more evidence of the cult that is aggy.

With all the crap I give aggy, I feel compelled to confess something. At the time of my retirement, I was CEO of a non-profit in S.A. My 1st Mate was a retired Air Force Colonel aggy grad from Mexico. He was one of the finest men I've ever known. He had my back at all times; was a loyal employee to the end. Even though he was in the Corps, he recognized what a bunch of turds they are & never got upset with me when I roasted aggy stupidity. He was 1 in 1,000,000. Que descanses con los angelitos, estimado amigo-hermano.
