Transfer Portal 2024

I agree it was a bit "iffy". But to be honest, the Statesman sometimes writes like that. No spellcheck and odd sentences stitched together.

Sports Illustrated found publishing AI generated stories, photos and authors

Hate to see poorly written content, by human or software, and am appalled by SI. As a former journalist, I miss the days when at least 2 editors reviewed copy before it was published, so there was a level of trust between reader and publication. I appreciate experienced journalists like Danny, Bohls and Golden - might not like what they say, but they have standards.
:bevo:

Sangre, I'm not challenging your knowledge of AI, but I am interested why you thought that article might be AI generated. It's not something I have a lot of knowledge about.
I don't know for sure if it is AI, but without obvious authorship I didn't want to ascribe it to a real human being. In my mind, doing so would be a terrible insult, suggesting anybody would write such a piece of unintelligible trash.

Neil Patel Digital, a big marketing firm, ran a poll about content creation and 640 respondents said they used AI only to create an article, 129 said they used human only, and 282 said they used AI edited by humans. That’s some scary figures and when it’s waaaay cheaper to use AI than hire someone this is only going to get worse. As always, don’t necessarily believe what you read.
With no author attributed that is suspect.

I think it’s obvious bucksgal is an AI creation and I have my doubts about brnkj.

You're way too funny. Wish I was AI, then I wouldn't have to be dealing with old age! Horns fan forever!:yippee:

Also losing Shaylee Gonzales; but, our depth at SG/W might look better next season if everyone else is healthy.

Still curious to know why Tionna Herron was not with the team in KC. That combined with Hadi's departure could make Center a real need next season and beyond.
Following up on Tionna’s absence, I don’t see her in this photo from the Spurs game last night:

Scott was ranked #11 by ESPN - 1 spot higher than Madison - but seems to have had injury issues her 1st season. She was scoring 22 ppg when healthy.

Wolfenbarger entered and withdrew from the Portal last year but then decided she didn't want to play at Arkansas this season but couldn't transfer.

I think we recruited Scott out of high school.

Razorbacks getting hammered the 1st day of the Portal. Poffenbarger averaged a double-double.

Transfer portal is really heating up quickly. Imagine what it will look like when teams playing in the postseason are finished.

According to the Next, Hannah Gusters is in the Portal. This would be her 4th school, correct? Baylor-->LSU-->Okie Lite-->???

In the 1st 2 days, the leaders for the "Titanic Award" are Sacramento State and Arkansas State - each with 7 players in the Portal. It's a close race with 6 other teams just 1 player behind them. Of the Power 5 schools, the highest number is 5 so far (Kentucky & Clemson).

When I posted this at 10:41 AM this morning, there were around 350 in the portal, 2.5 hours later? 408.

Definitely got the size and skill set we could use, but she allowed herself to get terribly out of shape in the year that she sat out of basketball. I don't know whether or not our staff would be interested in someone looking to transfer to a fourth school anyway. I believe she's got two years of eligibility left with the COVID year.
