True, and I'm not arguing he completely turned into a top-level QB. But if you look at the KU game, it's interesting that his first two drives reflected Casey's first two drives had the same result as Casey's: a TD and a fumble. The pick 6 was definitely bad, but it was one throw. I'm not going to define a guy for one mistake. It's not like he's the first freshman in history to throw a pick 6.
Yeah theoretically we lost in large part because of those mistakes - along with the mistakes Casey made. The mistakes the receivers made. The atrocious o-line play. The MIA defense. Card's mistakes weren't great but they shouldn't have been difference makers against Kansas. Maybe he plays through those mistakes if he's in the whole game. I suspect he would have.
Anyway, I guess we'll see! He's definitely going to have to show more this year, but I've no reason to think he won't improve over the off-season.
