Thread to discuss teams and games not involving Texas in 2021-2022

Lots of upsets in SEC tonight:

MS State beats Missouri in first game without Rickea.
Auburn 8-10(0-7) beats a Tennessee team that was 7-0 in SEC.
Arkansas leading LSU by 20 in the 4Q

With the way Arkansas is shooting the 3-pointer tonight, Mulkey must be having visions of Iowa State playing Baylor her last couple of years in Waco . . .

Arkansas could be tough match-up in the Tournament. Fast, quick guards with 3 point shooters. Amber Ramirez can really shoot the rock.

Seeing Mulkey lose… Good.

Seeing Mulkey lose by 14…. Better

Seeing Mulkey lose to an unranked team the night they revealed her team as a possible 3 seed… Delicious

#21 Duke lost to unranked NC, 78-62. Celeste out with arm injury and they've gone 2-3 since she's been out of the lineup.

61-71, impressive

If you get a chance to watch Auburn, keep an eye on sophomore 'G' Aicha Coulibally. She's listed as a 6' guard but plays like a 6' 2" F. Leads the team in scoring (18.1), rebounding (8.2) and is a close 2nd in blocks. She got into foul trouble late against Kentucky and it really hurt them. She had 26 points (10/14, 2/3 from 3, 4/8 FT) and 7 rebounds against Tennessee.

I don’t think anyone has pointed out that aTm is among the “First Four Out” right now in Gary Blair’s final season

This is the best article explaining why the UCLA game at Oregon was declared a forfeit with Oregon getting the win and UCLA getting the "L".

Even with 7 players available last year, Sherri Coale and Oklahoma competed instead of ending the season as Coach Vic was saying about Duke.

It'll be interesting here on out, if Osborne and other players are out for a significant period, will Cori Close choose not to play with 7 players for the other games?

Celeste Taylor missed her seventh game in a row since injuring her shoulder in Duke’s loss to Georgia Tech tonight at Cameron. Duke has lost 5 of those 7 games. This has to be a frustrating season for her thus far. Hope she gets well soon

I remember being on the “Jennie B. Won’t workout at OU” train and it’s clear I was wrong. Never would’ve predicted this kind of success in year 1

Observations from the BU/OU game:
1) Andrews had herself a game
2) Bickle is a scrapper
3) Egbo has to be considered a huge disappointment for someone her size….aka soft

I didn't expect this type of year from OU either. Hands down Big XII Coach of the Year and should be in the running for National Coach of the Year. I keep thinking their magic will wear off, but it seems their success is a product of awesome team chemistry.

I don't know the composition of the OU team, but it's apparent that it's a group that was ready to be coached. We have a freshman and a transfer at guard, and a committee in the paint, consisting mostly of freshmen (Deyona is essentially a freshman). This infusion of new talent is exciting and leads to inconsistency. And, we've been in every game. Last year's team came on at the end, perhaps this year's will too. Either way, I am excited about the 2022 recruits and about what Vic is building.
