Sloth
Wow you are brave to not only be surrounded by family but at work.
Hang tough. You are also right and want what is best for your country. :usflag:

Update: Everyone survived. At least in my family, blood is thicker than water. Granted, all it would have taken is one off-hand comment by anyone in attendance and all hell would have broken loose, but everyone behaved. The Army/Navy game was on circa 2019 and Trump made an appearance. My parents both spouted off and I pulled the, "Nobody talks politics in my house". It was kind of surreal to be that guy.
It does suck that I don't really have a single family member in my inner circle that is conservative. I'm also a teacher, so that kills any political talk at work. One of the teachers I work with broke up with her boyfriend of several months solely because she found out he was conservative. I do have one female teacher that is both younger AND more conservative than me, so that's kind of cool.

How old are your parents?

More importantly if you are single, how old is the female teacher that's younger and more conservative than you? And...

I'm not single. I labeled her as more conservative only because she's more religious. I am a Christian; however, I'm currently churchless.
There are def more conservative teachers than most realize. We just have to be more careful in this field. It's not just fellow staff members we have to worry about; it's also students and parents. I'm EXTREMELY apolitical at school. Teachers really should be.

No offense. I recognize that they're your mom and dad and that you love them, but people that old should know better. I understand why people in their 20s are nutty liberal. They've had years of unanswered bullcrap shoved down their throats in public schools and universities with little life experience to teach them reality. People in their 60s who have raised a family have no friggin excuse.

What pisses off Mrs. Deez is the double standard. She has to keep quiet about her politics and her faith, but God-hating communists and weirdos are allowed to run their mouths and be as outspoken as they want.

I'm glad this is happening, but I'm not a fan of the reason for it. The problem with the media isn't that they sided with the wrong winner. The problem really isn't that they're dominated by left-leaning people. The problem is that they are willing to lie and deceive to achieve the desired political outcomes. It's really a problem of character and professionalism more than politics.

For example, Tim Russert was a former staffer to Daniel Patrick Moynihan and Mario Cuomo. He was definitely a liberal guy, so why was he trusted as a news analyst? Because he valued his professionalism and honestly more than achieving a desired political outcome. The current hacks in media do not.

So what if Harris had won the election? None of this would be happening, but would it have meant that the media wasn't bad? No, it just would have meant that they were successful in their unprofessionalism and dishonesty.

The double standard is just about everywhere. Anyone famous (actor/pro athlete/author) and liberal is loved. Anyone famous and conservative is not. Libs also go insane in the corporate world too. See all the DEI junk.

Mr D
Thinking it over I can't imagine the frustration she goes through trying to do what is right for the kids without being labeled a non Woke
She deserves our admiration and gratitude
Plus you are above your class

Thanks for the kind words. She generally keeps quiet but will make her faith known if it's relevant. She avoids politics like the plague. Her particular team isn't bad. It's largely older people, who know how to act like professionals. However, most of the broader agency isn't like that, particularly in the DoDEA schools themselves. They're as woke as a typical East Coast school district - pretty bad.

I see signs , right now small signs, that parents and people are starting to fight back and demand change.
Look forward to seeing much more. Trump win seems to have energized people who felt nothing could change. Not all parents can home school or send their kids to othet schools.
Plus we do need a public school system that actually teaches.

^They're painting him as a victim. Yep - he's a victim of a justice system that gave him a trial, presented evidence, let his lawyers cross-examine, then a jury deliberated and found him "Guilty." The outcome was "never in doubt?" Maybe that's because the evidence was never in doubt.
