The Media Industry

The media is really showing its **** these days. And the marching orders they've received is ever apparent even locally. I happened upon the following two articles on WFAA tonight. (That's a Dallas station, btw.) This **** is inexcusable.
1. Trump aide: RFK Jr. will not be secretary of Health and Human Services despite "promises". Let's see if we can piss off some independents. The SECOND sentence of the article,
Howard Lutnick echoed a number of Kennedy's debunked anti-vaccine talking points in a CNN interview Wednesday, including falsehoods about the vaccine schedule and the disproven theory that vaccines cause autism.

2. Next article, "Harris assails Trump for saying Liz Cheney "should have rifles shooting at her".

3. "October jobs report provides somewhat blurry view of the job market". With this lovely gem as the heading under the title,
Combined with an inflation rate that has tumbled to near pre-pandemic levels, the overall economy appears to be on solid footing on the eve of Election Day.

So the FCC is all outraged. So what are they going to do?? Nothing and SNL/Dems know it
"
FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr says the appearance may have violated the equal time rule, a requirement that public broadcast organizations offer comparable time and placement to qualifying candidates during a major election.

Carr said Harris' appearance on SNL may have broken the rule if NBC did not also send an invitation to former President Trump.

"This is a clear and blatant effort to evade the FCC's Equal Time rule," Carr wrote of Harris' appearance. "The purpose of the rule is to avoid exactly this type of biased and partisan conduct - a licensed broadcaster using the public airwaves to exert its influence for one candidate on the eve of an election. Unless the broadcaster offered Equal Time to other qualifying campaigns.”

Trump campaign Senior Advisor Jason Miller told Fox News Digital that Trump did not receive an invite. An NBC News report also stated that a spokesperson for SNL "did not return a request for comment on whether it invited Trump to appear.”

I've managed to avoid my ultra left wing parents since Tue; however, there's a bday today.
They're 24/7 MSNBC fanboys. The blame is, of course, partially in them for succumbing to the propaganda; however, it does piss me off that the media can outright lie and denigrate with very little repercussions. For example, we got into it a little 3 weeks ago when, according to my mom's MSNBC folks, the govt./FEMA were doing an amazing job with the hurricane assistance.

Gonna be awkward.

Give whoever a nice MAGA hat for their birthday present.

I would simply say that if you were surprised by the election result, then you need a better variety of news sources.

Sloth
I am sorry you have to go through that. At least I don't have to see my lefty woke relatives. Just smile. You know the right man won.

How did your mom/dad like her/his new MAGA hat? Did you tell the other parent Santa will bring another next month?

Update: Everyone survived. At least in my family, blood is thicker than water. Granted, all it would have taken is one off-hand comment by anyone in attendance and all hell would have broken loose, but everyone behaved. The Army/Navy game was on circa 2019 and Trump made an appearance. My parents both spouted off and I pulled the, "Nobody talks politics in my house". It was kind of surreal to be that guy.
It does suck that I don't really have a single family member in my inner circle that is conservative. I'm also a teacher, so that kills any political talk at work. One of the teachers I work with broke up with her boyfriend of several months solely because she found out he was conservative. I do have one female teacher that is both younger AND more conservative than me, so that's kind of cool.
