The Media Industry

I really hate this mentality, and I've heard others besides AOC say it. I've heard supposedly "real" journalists say it, and it's terribly corrupting. Every journalist who says this should be fired. It's not because truth shouldn't be spoken to power. It's because it's ultimately and in practice a limitation on the truth. All you have to do is decide someone lacks power, and you justify not telling the truth. If you have to qualify telling the truth, you're dishonest at the core. You're not a journalist or any kind of purveyor of truth. You're a fraud shilling for an agenda.

The uproar from the liberal media about Musk suspending accounts is hilarious. It shows the complete hypocrisy of the left and further proves the 2020 election might not have been “stolen,” but was definitely tampered with by Twitter and the DNC-Justice Department.

I worked for one O-6 (Army COL) that had to go in front of congress and testify for some of our Info Ops (propaganda) tactics in AFG that used just this method. I also worked for the O-5 that made that Rolling Stone article about a Brigade Commander that was using "psyop" against US Senators. Leveraging media is a very effective method. It has been shown over and over again that even if you distrust the source, just the repetition of a point/fact/opinion is frequently enough to move audiences in the direction you want them to go. This is part of why most political tv shows have imbalanced representation. 4 of the commentors are Dem's while one is a Rep. It makes it appear as thought the Rep argument is weak when 4 others are refuting it.

Maggie Haberman (dutifully partisan liberal journalist for the NYT) is being slammed by the hard left. Wouldn't be my shocked if she gets shitcanned for pissing them off.

I offended a friend who told me his daughter was studying journalism at UT. He didn’t care for my view of the industry.

'Avatar 2' can't overcome James Cameron's worst sin (msn.com)

Not sure where this belongs. Wife and I went to go see Avatar II with friends. Visual effects were awesome. Story seemed to be the same as Avatar I, but now on water vs land (from what I remember), and yes, the humans/US are the bad guys. And no, I probably would not have seen it if not for wifey and friends......

Anyway, I must say there are several scenes that made me feel uncomfortable. Lots of sexualization of female characters, including minors. Rated PG-13, there were boob shots, side boob shots. costumes only covering nipples. Fine, whatever, but when those shots were of young girls, it made me, like I said, "uncomfortable."

With many in the country cutting the cord, liberals have also moved to indoctrination through Netflix, Amazon, HBO, Hulu, etc. Scroll through those offerings and you will see nothing but liberal slanted “documentaries” and “original” programming that will fill your mind with socialist agendas, anti law enforcement and general woke culture. Your kids and grandkids are even being brainwashed at home. I think this country is doomed due to social media and MSM being totally woke socialists.

This is absolutely true. I watched a documentary on tacos from Netflix. They were interviewing some journalist talking about a taqueria. This idiot says this guy really stuck it to the capitalists by innovating tacos, doing something never done before.

I was thinking, this idiot just described being a true capitalist and entrepreneur as being anti-capitalist. You have to be educated into that kind of stupidity.

They have arrested a suspect in the Idaho murder. Fox News is reporting it at the top of the hour. CNN and MSNBC are reporting on Trump. Their bias and infatuation with Trump will never end.

We should have a prediction contest for the inflection point where DeSantis grabs more of their attention.
