I watched the video. The entire media narrative on this story was blatantly false. It was Trayvon Martin 2.0. Maybe worse. What seems to happen with these race controversies is that somebody tips off the media that some white guy has done something racist, and they just go apeshit with the anti-white narrative without doing any meaningful investigation. Plenty of outlets are backpedaling on this story, but the damage is done. This is how you get called the Enemy of the People and have the label stick at least in the minds many.
We need to restore the defamation cause of action by overturning New York Times v. Sullivan and bring this to a halt. Media outlets getting sued for dishonesty and false light isn't dangerous. Unchecked lies and fraud are.

LongestHorn, you proudly announced this when it first came out and I posted the response before I knew any facts because this always happens. Again, we’ve been through this 1,000 times and I felt confident that this was just another typical outcome from the fake media. Fake news has zero credibility for a while now. Not sure they will ever regain the trust of the American People.
The student that the Native American protester faced down issued a statement. Basically, it said we were the subject of slurs from the Black Israelites and then some dude with a drum got into my face. I smiled because I wanted to de-escalate the situation. Pretty much sums it up.
How come no one is going after the Black Israelites and the Native American for picking on 8th graders? If I was there I would call them cowards. Legit question as to where were the adults for the kids.

Because anyone, anyone, regardless of age, whom is white, black, hispanic, whatever, and wears a MAGA hat is a justified target to those lunatics. 8th graders! Attacked and the press goes after them. It is no longer even accurate to characterize this as unbelievable since it happens regularly.
You can never reach people like that. They are so far gone they cannot achieve the necessary level of balance to rationally promote honesty; they are only about feeding their emotional hang-ups. They are clearly driven by hatred and their self-image is toxic to their very being. To be a Democrat does not require piling on the impeachment or white privilege bandwagon. There's something deeper at play here and it's pathological.
I feel Farrakhan is protected and will always be so because he shrewdly helps the poor. I saw The Two Escobars 30 x 30 on ESPN and they had video footage of the poor in Columbia sobbing after Pablo was killed. They said, "Who will help us now?" I believe it will always be so with people like Farrakhan and Sharpton. Their unequivocal loyalty to the black community is complete. It is unassailable. There is no white person alive who can compete with that. It will never be seen as a double-standard; they see it as defending their core being. They see it as two strong men who are defending their own flag in a war that will never end.

There will never ever be any acknowledgement of a left-wing bias in the media. I would bet the house on it. And I'm not talking about our Democrat friends here on Hornfans. This is a huge issue nationally and they are sick to the core in their belief that Liberalism should be THE one and only American value and that the media is only recognizing FACTS about it's progressive goodness.
Mr. Phillips said he felt the need to drum in a random kids face because the kids were not doing the Haka with respect. The Haka is a traditional dance of the Maori people who are indigenous to New Zealand which is located in the southern and eastern hemispheres. It is currently popular among young people of all races.
Given that Mr. Phillips is a member of the Omaha Tribe located in Nebraska and Iowa, which states are located in the northern and western hemispheres, it makes complete sense that he would take offense at kids doing a popular dance that originated on the actual other side of the world and from a completely different and unrelated people from his own.
Personally, I can relate. Right now, a traditional Bulgarian funeral dance is very popular with kids. The kids do not do it to honor the ancestors of the Bulgarian people with respect. Instead, they associate it with a video game called “Fortnite”. Whenever I, a Texan with some partial german ancestry, see a kid doing “the floss” aka flossing and not doing so respectfully, I feel compelled to go up to the kid and start yodeling in his face. If the sorry privileged sack of **** starts smiling or laughing as I yodel in his f***ing face and does not appreciate how his disrespect of the Bulgarian’s native flossing dance affects me, someone with no connection to Bulgaria whatsover, well..... that 16 year old is basically the same as Adolf Hitler.

Yep. I'm watching Fox News and they had that Doug Schoen, former Hillary campaign worker, touting how Trump's approval numbers are falling. Of course, when 95% or whatever coverage of Trump is negative, even many conservatives will start to believe the ********.
There are two levels of media; the traditional outlets and the blogosphere/Twitter. The national media is being scooped and in their zeal they are losing control of their standards. I do believe there are rational people who want to report the truth at CNN, The New York Times, ABC etc. But they are being beaten to the punch time and time again. They have to look at the blogosphere as the National Inquirer and trust that the reckless lies can only be beaten with time. The blogosphere and Twitter are dominated by hopelessly zealous fanatics and they know exactly what to say and do. It is coordinated, if not overtly by offline meetings, then instead by an understanding of what how the cult thinks and what works. We must ALL recognize the propaganda machine that is in play. I'm not saying it doesn't happen on the right but this week was a disastrous example of the left-wing hate machine.

He went over there because:
1. He wanted to defuse tensions with the kids and the Black Hebrew Israelites; OR
2. He was minding his own business, wanted to pray at the Lincoln Memorial and a group of MAGA hat wearing kids would not let him; OR
3. He saw a group of MAGA hat wearing kids being disrespectful and felt compelled to go over there; OR
4. He was looking for attention and he knew walking into the middle of a group of high schoolers and beating a drum in one of their faces would get him attention.
(Hint: it is #4 aka the only reason he did not give.)
Thanks for posting this. I'm waiting for my cousin to acknowledge his error on his Facebook page. He ran with the initial story and said he wanted to smack the teenager in the face. This is a 67 year old man mind you. Just one sick emotionally unhinged human being. I also happen to know his three children won't have a thing to do with him but he has lots of fans on Facebook cheering him on. I have to tell you that I'm not exaggerating this one bit. It's highly unfortunate. His arrogance is incredible.
I would love to see all of us here back the truck up and stick to rational discussions, acknowledgement of real facts and analyze the mega-trends of human evolution. These alternative media outlets (somewhat like bitcoin in my mind) seem to serve two purposes; rally the fanatics and provide their conspiracy theory minds some sort of belief that they are bypassing the grid. They believe mainstream media is brainwashing us. I believe it is the alternative media that is doing the brain-washing. They have no standards.

Skimmed a 1.5hr video yesterday starting with the "Black Hebrew Israelites" which confirmed they were the instigators in the fracas. From what I viewed I don't think the "Indigenous Peoples March" or the "March for Life" students were at fault for anything other than talking/shouting and acting past each other. The kids certainly don't deserve any of the initial ridicule they received.
The media jumped too fast. I loathe the "fakenews" moniker as it's self serving but the media needs to slow down and ensure they have the full story rather than leaping in any direction. The speed of news is vastly outpacing editorial staff ability to keep up.

You may loathe the fake news monitor but it is a fact. Anti-Trump stuff is pushed regardless of facts. Anything that is true and hurtful to liberals or their ideology is not discussed or is pushed towards the back of the paper. This keeps happening time and time again. However, I do appreciate you coming forward and admitting there are issues in the press that need to be changed.

"Fakenews" is not a fact with the way many on the right use it. They use it to undercut the credibility of articles that are borne out to be true but simply they don't like them. MSM, including FoxNews, need to be careful about trying to keep up with the blogging sites that aren't held to the same standard. Breitbart, thedailycaller or dailykos, and huffingtonpost don't need to be accurate. In fact, most of the time they are note even delivering news but rather commenting on news no different than we do on this BBS.
Does media display bias? Bias exists everywhere, including on this board. Bias seems to be more prevalent today than yesterday. In yesteryear with fewer news sources they didn't have to cater to the audience because there was no place else to go. The proliferation of purposely biased sources has resulted in any attempts to remain 100% neutral to not be profitable.
You might have a point but can you blame us conservatives as a whole? There are so many stories that are not true that the MSM pushes that we conservatives are now becoming wary of nearly every story from them, true or not. A lot of times they are telling the truth but are leaving out major parts of the story in order to fit their narrative. Look at that Buzzfeed story. That was not simply bias as you say. That was two deceptive journalists in action.
