The Border/Illegal Immigration?

H2
Yes but to Mona's point the Fed troops are not doing their job of protecting by unlocking fence and escorting illegal aliens in.
I understand the frustration. I know you do too

The gov of Texas cannot, will not run off US troops. Those troops take a pledge to protect the USA. Not Del Rio

Potus = commander in chief
Governor of Texas = not commander in chief

The governor of Texas can publicly call for the removal of US troops from his state. He doesn't have to allow Biden to send in a group that is undoing the work that the Texas guard is doing. Governors do have a level of sovereignty over what is going on in their states. I am not saying that the Abbott can order the troops directly. I am saying he should work through the legal system to protect the state, even escalate tension if need be.

The US troops are not protecting the US from the little I have heard. If there is more evidence to the contrary I will change my mind. But all I have heard so far is that they opened a gate to let illegals in. Still I do have faith in Rachel Levine and Milley and all wokesters in charge of the military these days. I'm sure they have the country's best interests in mind.

The US troops are going to do what their commander-in-chief tells them to do (or not do). It's that simple.

If Biden is telling them to let illegal immigrants in, I don't see a legal case Abbott could make to expel them. Not only is he commander-in-chief, the Feds have jurisdiction over immigration and border security. That doesn't mean states can't get involved at all, but it does mean that the Feds have supremacy.

Wow
Today, within hours of Gov Abbott asking all governors to provide help w the crisis at the border, these 24 answered the call, & will be deploying troops and providing resources: Alabama Alaska Arkansas Florida Georgia Idaho Indiana Iowa Missouri Mississippi Montana Nebraska N Dakota New Hampshire Nevada Ohio Oklahoma S Carolina S Dakota Tennessee Utah Virginia West Virginia Wyoming

Up to this point Milley et al have been teats on a boar hog. No help at all but they sit at the command on potus

I think Biden might be ok with red state NG patrolling now, given the chaos cities are going through trying to house illegals & bussing them elsewhere (upstate NY for example). Biden is up to his neck in manure, red states have to come to the rescue.

Not long ago the wh would have screamed "racist" by sending NG to the border in huge #s. Now , politically, they have no wiggle room.

I agree with your first paragraph. I wasn't trying to make the point that this wasn't the case.

Are you saying Governors have no recourse to Federal action in their states? I don't know specifics but that sounds like a recipe for enslavement if so.

I can't give a definite answer on that. It depends on the legality of the specific federal action.

Remember when Demx were enraged over illegal kids "being ripped from their family's arms' during Trump?
So Trump institued familial DNA testing. Which of course showed illegal kids were being used by people not related.
Biden is stopping the familial DNA testing. Gee wonder why?

Maybe Hunter admitted to Slow Joe that a few of those kids were his.

This is sickening.

"Mayor Eric Adams has stated that 50 percent of the hotels in New York City are currently filled with illegal immigrants. Adams has shared that he’s reached out to others in the city, but they’ve stated that they don’t want to shelter migrants.-guns-and-drugs
When arriving in the city, Arrellano shares that migrants are given hotel rooms that come with free benefits, such as Uber services, healthcare, free car seats and cribs for children, laundry services, housekeeping, metro cards for the subway, and three meals a day.

“Everything ranging from doctors visits to medication is paid for for the migrants,” Arrellano explains. “Car seats, cribs for newborns, there’s I want to say at least two to three babies a week being born at this hotel.”

Arrellano shares that many of the migrants, although initially wanting to head to a different location, end up wanting to make New York their home after receiving a plethora of benefits and free housing.

“Around 200 through 300 metrocards a day are given for free,” Arrellano explains, “ID services, IDNYC, they have ID’s from the city of New York – a lot of people in this hotel are working with that ID, aside from that they’re receiving food stamps – a lot of services are provided to them just for having this ID.”

The program Arrellano is referring to is New York’s IDNYC, a program the city shares is a “free, municipal identification card for New York City residents, ages 10 and up, provides access to a wide variety of services and programs offered by the City.” New York’s official government website states that “immigration status does not matter," and anyone can apply for the identification service. This ID can be used as identification for employment, health services, affordable housing, and can also be used “to open a bank account at select financial institutions,” per the nyc.gov website.

NY state and NYC deserve whatever they are getting.
Now the guv wants to house them in SUNY dorms.
Just hope we can prevent the Feds from giving these Sanctuary places money.

That's all good news for us...IF... Adams doesn't find a way to get paid back by the federal gov't. I'm sure they are working on ways to get Biden to push more money to NY,NY in order to make them whole again. Abbott and Desantis are making them put their money where their mouth is and it is going to hurt. I say pour it on.
