Obviously not the same dynamics but i think a lot of people had given up on getting a lot of things corrected on abortion also. It will certainly take the GOP winning POTUS and a much stronger GOP Senate but it is not impossible.

Abbott needs to do a public call for "sanctuary cities" to help out. something like....

"NY professed to be a sanctuary city but is now bussing migrants to small communities instead of providing the sanctuary they professed to support. Are there any other Sanctuary Cities out there willing to help NY shoulder this burden?" .....and listen to the crickets.
