I'm glad we picked our seats when Moody opened. We're extremely happy right we are even if we aren't one of those mega donors. We give what we can, and show up to support the team.In regards to season tickets, I read something very quickly and deleted it or moved on so I can't remember where I saw it so I could post on here.
1. This call is for new season tickets for those who have never had season tickets
2. They mentioned that these are all for reserved seats. So you can't say, "I'd like 2 GA tickets for the entire year please"
3. Existing ticket holders will get their renewal email in July
My guess is this is how they will fill the old and new request:
a. A mix of new and older season ticket holders will be put into a sorted list, based on your "Loyalty Points" and get to choose your new or improve your current seats
b. New season ticket holders can't "boot" or move an old season ticket holder from their seats. BUT, if a new season ticket holder has more points (contributes more money) then the new ticket holder will leap ahead and get to choose a better seat than the older season ticket holder who has fewer points -effectively shutting out the old season ticket holder from improving their seats. (this is why the move from Erwin to Moody was so critical)*
c. Then they will sell the 3-game packages of seats
d. Then they will open up season GA tickets
e. Once the season starts, they'll re-sell reserved seats (which are between the buckets facing straight to the court) or GA tickets
*Once my wife and I became empty nesters, we gave up 2 of our 4 season tickets, thus freeing up seats for other to improve their seats.
Email from Texas Athletics this morning says they have discontinued GA seating for the 2024-25 season. I am quite thrilled to hear this news. I really could never fathom why in a place as nice as Moody with reserved seat numbers everywhere and no obstructed views, you thought you needed to offer this as an option. Sell cheap reserved seats sure....but turning the end zones into Southwest Airlines was dumb.In regards to season tickets, I read something very quickly and deleted it or moved on so I can't remember where I saw it so I could post on here.

Yeah, I coulda sworn I read in that lost email that they were getting rid of GA. But since I couldn't find that email, I didn't say that. Someone, in a different sport, got into a snit because I posted something wrong. So, I didn't throw that nugget in.Email from Texas Athletics this morning says they have discontinued GA seating for the 2024-25 season. I am quite thrilled to hear this news. So Michigan is the season opening opponent for both SC & Texas in Las Vegas?Texas women's basketball program learns SEC home, road assignments (statesman.com)
An Elite Eight team this past season, Texas has not yet finalized the nonconference schedule. Schaefer recently told the American-Statesman that UT will open the season against Michigan in Las Vegas and that a road trip to DePaul has been planned.
Good thing we get some great conference games at home as it sounds like our best non-conference games (UConn, Michigan, and DePaul) won't be in Austin.
I gotta believe the Statesman got it wrong. Although, I hope we do play Michigan somewhere. So Michigan is the season opening opponent for both SC & Texas in Las Vegas?
Michigan basketball to open season against defending national champs
I hope that's true. I've looked all over social media and have found nothing stating the women are playing OSU in Vegas. It’s Michigan vs South Carolina and Texas will play Ohio state in Las Vegas November 4th. Happy Texas men and women will start the season in Vegas on the same day. I now have an actual reason to go to Vegas this time!!
Its Michigan vs South Carolina and Texas vs Ohio state.
So glad Vic Schaefer is a Texas Longhorn!Vic Schaefer LIVE on the Paul Finebaum show on SECN right now. SEC meetings in Destin, FL.
At least 5 months is right before the season starts. But we know how Vic likes to ease previously injured players into the line up!! Bet she doesn’t see a lot of minutes until around conference play in January!Orangebloods.com spoke with Vic in Florida and this was communicated:
Texas women’s basketball coach Vic Schaefer said Rori Harmon is about five months away from being at 100 percent. However, Schaefer wants Harmon to participate in multiple practices to make sure her body can stand up to the wear and tear of regular season games.
