Texas v. Baylor April 22-24, 2022

Now Dylan Campbell drives a hard line drive single to LF.

We’re shelling this belly-itcher!!!!

High throw by Faltine draws Ivan off the bag. Runner safe and other runner comes in. Weird looking play at first.
They’ll review it.
9-4 us.

It’s gotta be the janitors and groundskeepers favorite game of the year…
Which brings to mind one of my biggest pet peeves. The ballpark is not your trash can. Just because you're a trashy human being doesn't mean you can trash the space around you and leave it that way. I always sit in the middle of section 111 above the 3rd baseline. At the end of every game I attend the place looks like a landfill. Yesterday I sat in front of this dude that was equal parts pig and hyena. He spent his entire time there drinking Blue Moons and eating his 4 or 5 quesadillas. (all that probably helps him maintain his 5'6" 280 lb chiseled physique) And he left it all on the ground. He also had to make sure his crew knew of his superior knowledge of all things Texas traditions. (and he got the origin of Bevo wrong, btw. And his son had to remind him that there is a difference between Wabash Cannonball and March Grandioso)

Gordon with 94 pitches.
A decent outing
Not bad

Break out the radar guns.
In comes Southard with his 98mph fastball

Don’t ever go see a movie at an AMC theatre…

Southard loads up the bases on a walk.

In Southard’s defense, that ball called high was in the zone. Baylor’s pitchers have been getting that strike call all day.

That last pitch was bad. All mental is my contention for our pitching problems.

Campbell with the grab at the warning track!!!
Harrison living dangerously…
But effectively…

On to the bottom of the 6th

9-4 Horns

:bevo::bevo::bevo:

Silas is a little bit off today behind the plate. 2 past balls—both off of his glove—both resulting in runs.

Turn the page on that. He’s still the best catcher in the conference.

He is mentally tougher by a long shot over the others in the bullpen.

Maybe. Although I can think of one reliever who has the stones to repeatedly throw straight fastballs right down Broadway with the bases loaded…

:rolleyes1:

Nice K by Harrison with two outs and two on. One more to go.

Nixon may be coming in. Yep. There he his. Nixon.

Good play by Faltine! 3 away. Nixon worked his slider like old times.

10-4

7th inning stretch.

The second to last pitch was high in the zone. Called a ball. It would have been the third strike. Such are the breaks, but our pitchers’ strike zone seems noticeably smaller than for Baylor’s pitchers.
