Texas-ULM Game Thread

As a Longhorn fan, life is good! After all the years of frustration, disappointment and downright disgust with Longhorn football, we are back. We are good, we are deep and we can play with the best of them. For years I watched the Clemsons, Alabamas and OSU's and realized just far behind those teams we were. Now we can look at those teams and say, bring it on, we will kick your a$$!

Derek Williams on sidelines wearing street clothes. Did not play this week.

Lots of things to correct before starting SEC play next week. I assume Sark and the staff will get it started tomorrow.

Just heard that both Williams and Wisner had hamstrings..

Uh oh, hamstring injuries are tricky and don't normally heal real fast.... fortunately the Horns have some breathing room before the ou game.

Speaking of ou, their Offense has been sucking and has no identity.

On our way home. Few thoughts:

1. Defense played well, but ULM clearly has some execution issues. We're basically daring everyone to throw on us, and for whatever reason (poor QB play, bad pass catchers, OL breakdowns), they just can't. Credit to Coach K for sure, but I feel like a better offense (if/when we ever see one...) will be able to move the ball a little more than we've been used to in 2024. It's a good thing teams like Ole Miss aren't on the schedule.

2. Arch was good. I still prefer Ewers based on what I saw tonight. Can't completely rely on the deep ball to bail us out.

3. Can't wait for cooler weather. And I wish more of our games were at night.

4. We're thin at RB but at least we got an opportunity to work on the run game.

Tennessee 19 OU 3 , 1:40 until the half.
I was at the OU game. It really wasn’t as close as it sounds (10 points). Tennessee had some questionable penalties that kept the score close. OU has a good defense but they have no running game. The freshman QB came in and had some nice runs. Tennessee is a much better team. I don’t see us losing to OU unless we have a lot of turnovers.

If they had teenage kids or grandkids, they probably heard it on the car radio (or emanating from the kid’s room) but most likely they took the word of some moral guardian know-it-all that it was an allegory for satanic worship, blah blah blah
I never got over being disgusted by the "warm smell of colitis rising up through the air".

:D
