Texas State - 2 game mid-week miniseries

Top of the Ninth

9-1 Horns.

A little more insurance never hurts.

It’s pretty windy.

Check it out. Game suspended. The 9th inning will be played tomorrow night before game 2.

9-1 us going into the 9th (tomorrow).

I guess we let a little used young pitcher throw the ninth inning tomorrow, and save the A-team pitching for game 2 right afterwards.

What does this say about LBJ? Is he out of the weekend starter rotation for next weekend?

Lummus threw like a champ tonight against a good batting lineup. We needed that. This could have easily been a 9-9 tie game or something.

:clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::clap:

hahahaha.....and a base hit to shallow RF and the 3rd base coach was holding the runner from 2nd but he went any way and Belyeu guns him down at home.
Sombody's going to be running a bunch of bases or laps.

It's telling and he didn't really look any better. Doesn't appear he will be starting Friday but if he can't make it past the 2nd inning i guess he could. :idk:

Regarding LBJ, I don't know if he's out of the starting rotation--announcers said that this would be his regular bullpen day anyway. Pitched two innings, 4 hits, 1 walk, 1 run, over 40 pitches. It seems like every out is a struggle, and it hurts my heart to see it.

Percent chance of rain in Austin, TX

6 pm - 12%
7 pm - 14%
8 pm - 22%
9 pm - 55%
10 pm - 68%

funny percents as there was a monster storm with hail in the area at the 6pm hour (and before).

Some pitching strategies for tonight, how about:

9th Inning of Game 1: Bertsch or Zaharias* on the mound to protect an 8 run lead for 1 inning.

Game 2: Starter - Howard or Tole
Long Reliever - Howard or Tole
Other Relievers - Bertsch, Zaharias*, O'Hara (good for 1-2 innings after last night), Selvig, Witt (if he's still pitching), Luke Harrison

* we need to see this guy on the mound, and soon. Don't shirt him and save him for next year. If he's good, this team needs him now.

Do not use the following, save them for this weekend: Boehm, Ace W, Grubbs, LBJ, Tumis, Hudson Hamilton, DuPlantier, Shaw, Hurley.

...and if we really get in a bind at pitcher tonight, this guy went 6-2 with a 0.86 ERA and 86 strikeouts in 69.1 innings on the mound in high school.

That kid that ran past the stop sign at 3rd should of got his butt chewed for that, Belyeu fielded that ball in shallow right. I mean come on. :lmao:

Wednesday continuation of the 9th Inning from Game 1.

O’Hara on the mound

…….got to this late. But we’ve got one out and a few base runners……

Brown makes a catch in the swirling wind. That’s harder than it looks.

Two down.

I really like his stuff.

Best on the team.

Boehm and LBJ might argue their cases (as might Hudson Hamilton).

When Tumis really gets his breaking stuff going, it breaks in freakish and unnatural ways that sometimes appear to defy the laws of physics.
