TEXAS-OU Game Thread

The way Strong left the program it's absolutely true. Have you noticed that we're having to play underclassmen everywhere on defense? That's on Strong. Herman has only 2 classes to call his own and came in too late on the third to make much of an impact.
That's because even though we are so "physical", they get injured very easily. How do they explain that? Do they practice too hard? many on here criticized Mack for not being physical enough in practice? What's the answer? Why are our guys so prone to injury?

I think the OLine made Sam look bad today. He was under tremendous pressure the whole game. Our strength was our weakness today. OLine.
Yea, no ****. When you have a guard/center combo both wiff on blocks so that a guy comes untouched right up the middle, wtf is the QB supposed to do. I mean if you're goin to stand out there and pick your nose put someone else in. I'm not calling out names, but we all know who got owned today.

OU also won this game because they cheated.

There were at least 18 missed holding penalties on OU that I saw. Many of the plays had multiple OL holding at the same time yet the refs were blind and saw none of them.

Texas had 1 guy on the OL hold that was missed. So OU out-cheated us 18 to 1. Tom Herman needs to send the video of all the holding plays to the Big 12 conference.
Than that's on us. Play to how the game is being called. If they aren't going to call holds or pic plays then hold and run pick plays. It's not that complicated. We sure could have used a bit of help on the OLine. If they aren't calling holding, then friggin hold damnit and stop complaining about it.

Bad luck? Have you noticed that Alabama's defense is banged up as well? Are they soft? Did you see how long it took Saban to build LSU and Swinney to build Clemson? You're going to have to give Herman more time. Maybe Herman doesn't work out but after 2.5 years it's too early to panic on him.

Year in and year out we are depleted by injuries. At some point it's no longer bad luck.

you are my West Mall buddy for sure, but here I just have to say Texas is not that good. We played with LSU but got totally dominated today. We may win out against a lousy conference slate of opponents just to get our asses handed to us again by ou in December. Nothing to indicate Texas will be healthy then.

Greg Davis out throws. Hello, when they are camping on that throw, stop throwing it. Gotta win the battle with the slant.
Yes, play calling was horrible. When the Roschon runs were working, the staff went right back to the inexplicable affliction of quickly going away from what works. Not sure what's in the water or gatorade there, but we just never stick with what works.

No, I can't. So, you say we weren't depleted but went ahead and lost to WVU and ou again December. Okay.
Last season was last season. We had a whole different set of concerns and problems, of which injuries were not a major factor. It's called football, it's called life, it doesn't remain static. You're the one claiming, "Year in and year out we're depleted by injuries." Back your statement up with facts, or maybe you just want to piss and moan. If so, proceed with vigor, but own it for what it is.

Go ahead and pump your sunshine. Texas got its *** kicked and is prone to injury. You don't have to agree.

If you do a search you'll remember I was the one last year being chastised by a lot of people for sticking up for Ehlinger. People here thought Ehlinger was just a god awful QB and he was derided after every game. I told people they were being too impatient with a true sophomore. By the end of the year he went to the next level. Just stay patient. I belive good things are on their way.

He didn't play well today.

In Year 3 of any new coaching staff, I no longer blame the previous staff.

We were out coached today. The best unit on the field was OU’s D. They were physical, flew to the ball, and were ready for our play calling. Additionally, we didn’t adjust well. Nine sacks is an abomination. an embarrassment. This was OU, not the 85 Bears.

On D, although the effort was there, our inability to tackle, and our non existent run D when it counted was a massive disappointment. Todd O is starting to worry me.

I like Hurts the person but he was not impressive. One dimensional.

If memory serves me weren't you one of those who criticized Ehlinlger last year ? Have you seen how banged up we are and playing with underclassmen everywhere?

Hardly pumping sunshine, but certainly also not engaging in histrionic and inaccurate blame laying.
Okay. You can't disprove that Texas has been injury prone. I'm not, admittedly, going to go back and list injuries the last several years, but to say we aren't injury prone is crazy. If we are healthy and play like this, that may be a bigger problem.

Did he play better than Hurts?
How many bad passes did he throw?
How many bone-headed decisions did he make?
How in the world is he the one you criticize?
I wouldn't say I blamed the loss on him. I said he didn't play well. The coaches didn't do well, the OL was terrible, and the tackling overall was shoddy. I certainly didn't mean to come across. as blaming sam for the loss. I was responding to Garmel. It was a team loss.

Texas Gameday guys made the point that in big games if Sam doesn't play in a superhuman way, Texas can't win. Y'all going to say they are wrong? They know a bit about football.

That's mostly true because we don't have the talent level yet. Btw, Sam wasn't superhuman against WVU but we won

We need two more top 3 recruiting classes to get there, however we can go 10-2 and get to the CCG. This is still a top 10 team we just have to prove it.

Hopefully wanting a rematch will keep them focused the rest of the year. Even with 1 more loss we'll still most likely get to the CCG. Better play that game different.
