TEXAS-OU game thread 2023

I think there's a good chance we can run the table and play OU in the championship game. They won't beat us again if we're healthy.

This is one of the most devastating losses I've ever witnessed and I've been watching Texas football for at least 55 years. Just crushing. They won the LOS for most of the game. We got zero pressure on those last 4 throws. Like were our DEs even on the field? Sure didn't feel like it.

Dude they weren't healthy either. Both teams lost starting a DB and starting OL. They just kept executing. Texas caved.

In that case, I hope OU goes undefeated and ranked top 3 when we meet again. That will be our only chance at playoffs.

Still have no idea why Coach K thought little to no pressure on Gabriel would work.
It was not just this, but he didn’t scheme to bring any pressure to make him go right , and Hill should have spied him the whole game. Pk was exposed by a good offense with a better prepared and plan. He had no answer.

Texas at its best is a better team than ou at its best. Today Texas wasn't at its best; ou was. Longhorns will get another shot in the Big XII Championship game.

They lost their starting DB on the last series of the game and their OL in the 2nd half? We had Watts out for the game and Catalon for most of it. Sanders didn't get to play much either.

What I saw is they're going to be a tough out no matter what. Today they wanted it more and we still almost won. But make no mistake they hit us in the mouth and it took almost a 1/2 to recover. I mean we all knew they were going to come out fighting and like the players just didn't believe it.

We lost several games last year because of poor end of game clock management. We did it again here. Wtf we run hurry up with 2:30 on the clock and 3 timeouts!? We guarantee them time. OU played better, no doubt. We could have stolen this game by running the damn clock on the last drive.

Except the dirt burglars had a lot to do with that. In my opinion, their offense was better prepared than our defense, and they came out with much more urgency than we did. Giving up points at the end of the half and the end of the game is not acceptable from the defense.

Draw some comfort from this. We got punched in the mouth early and bounced back.

I’m frustrated as anyone at some of the mistakes we made. I didn’t see anything that concerns me for the rest of the season. K-State at home and TCU in Fort Worth will give us some fits, but our poise can handle that.

I was saying the same thing. I don't get it either.

we played poorly. We were out-coached. Sark is horrible at red-zone offense. Our vaunted D played like we were back in the mackovic years. How do you allow IN BOTH HALVES and team to drive the length of the field in under 2 minutes with no TOs?

What makes this hurt more is that our strengths in the trenches just were AWOL. Very uncharacteristic of defense. Sark made mistakes today

Have to fix the turnovers and red zone mistakes. Easily could have been a 14-pt swing without that first QE int and a TD on first & goal. OU made little to no mistakes (missed FG)

It is what it is, we lost, but did anyone else think Worthy went down too soon instead of extending on the 4th and goal play?

Right. Only rushed 3 on the last drive until the td pass.
