Texas' NCAA 2024 Tournament

As much as I am glad the aggies are gone, I could not help but wonder what their power hitters would have done to zero u.
They would have flopped and looked stupid. They wouldn't have been playing Daddy Texas, so there would have been no frenzied, foaming at the mouth, maniacal effort involved.

I think i would rather play UCLA than Stanford tomorrow but i am open to the opinion that it doesn’t mean a ****.

CDC and Sarah Baumgartner often attend home softball games, so this isn't just for show. Also, Baumgrartner was a softball player at Illinois.

We watched portions of Florida-Alabama and it was cover-your-eyes ugly. From Princess Bride: "Have fun storming the castle boys!" comes to mind.

Watched even less of UCLA-Stanford and UCLA needs to get a new hitting coach. Lots of desperation swings or maybe Canady is that good. I was hoping for more pitches out of Canady, but UCLA got out so quickly that it was moot.

Go Horns!

Yeah Racer I watched a lot of it thinking UCLA would pull it out any minute, no such luck. Reminded me of some boys recently. :brickwall:

Supposed to be 6pm Worster, but they're behind schedule due to the weather. Just depends on whether or not the blowu/swamp lizard matchup goes 1 or 2 games.

‘IF’ Flo-Rida holds on, deciding game between these two will be tomorrow from what I’ve seen.

So are the “if nesasary” games today or tomorrow?
If the original schedule had held, IF Florida beats OU, then the "if" second game between Gators and Sooners would have been played immediately afterwards. But because of the lightening delay, they didn't want to bump into the Texas-Stanford game. So, it was decided that the "if" game between FL and OU would be played on Tuesday as well if there is an "if" game between Texas-Stanford.

So just to make sure my head is wrapped around this...
They had originally planned for as many as 4 games today, but weather delays forced it to become only two, maximum.

Yes. Two years ago, Texas was in the same situation as Florida was today. They were 2-1 and in the semi-finals. They had to play OSU and if they beat them, turn around and play them the same day. And the same exact thing happened to OU. They got beat by UCLA and then had to turn around and play the "if" game the same day. So in the WCWS, 4 games were played the same day.

Thanks

Well, the Osoners tried to mount a comeback, but it was too little, too late - and they gave up two more runs to Florida. Final Florida 9-3. So the "if necessary" game just became necessary. They play again tomorrow.

Technically the ball didn't hit her glove, but that should be a single and three base error, BUT baseball has never been scored that way. Coulda, woulda, shoulda, but that's one of the changes I'd make in baseball, but would accept the argument that there are enough "my idea" decisions in the game already.
