Texas' NCAA 2024 Tournament

I did not like Reece being hit in the head. Thought Coach would have had more to say about that...sigh. I thought it was done on purpose. Thank goodness she was not hurt.:bevo:

Malcolm,

It looked like the Aggies were trying to argue that she ducked into the ball to get hit.

That said, Jess Nealy took whining to perfection; Hayden Fry took it to an art form; these Aggie coaches certainly are honor students in the Nealy-Fry Hall of Fame.

Instead of waking up and stumbling to the tablet, we stayed up and listened to the internet play-by-play. Now I’m so pumped from the win that I can’t sleep (4:36 am in Venice). Last batter I was screaming with my inside voice “Pull her Mike!” And I guess that’s why I’m not a coach.

Worried about our mental state. But as one of the UT volleyball coaches said during this trip, once UTVB beat Tennessee in 5 sets they mentally relaxed for the rest of the tournament. Everything on top of that was gravy. Here’s hoping that applies to UTSB.

Has anyone ever seen a pitcher tossed in D1 softball for plunking.

I was wondering (via radio) what the conference was about.

I didnt getto see the game but Ive read all the comments and te box score. Why did Atwood only have 1 official at bat but no walks?

Yea. Don’t duck and take it in the mouth. I once ducked on a fast pitch softball game in a big time industrial league and the ball hit me on the top of the head. No helmet. Those guys (and girls) can make the ball move so far at the end of the pitch it will move with you. Ag coaches knew better. Just forgot about that bull crap code of honor for a chance to cheat. Like always.

The ump appeared to warn the a&m dugout but the announcers were lost and all over the place with their commentary. Pitch was so blatant yet they were talking about pitching tough inside.

I'm having a hard time celebrating tonight's win knowing that Emily Kennedy doesn't like Austin. Props to her for paying attention at fish camp.

Good call. I'm among a small group around here old enough to remember Jess Nealy and Hayden Fry!!

If I were the Ump, regardless of who was playing, if the same player (especially an MVP) got plunked 3x in 1 game, SOMEBODY would get tossed. Not sure who, maybe the pitcher, maybe a coach, maybe the mascot, but SOMEBODY would get tossed. I'm surprised White didn't say something to the Ump.

What I had to listen to on internet to enjoy. Rare call from home plate to end a game and series. Most don’t have the guts to do that.

After I saw her say that everytime camera found her I remembered..
I know her hitting Reece was no accident.:bevo:

All three games decided by one run. Too much for this old man's heart. Wish we still had Cat on the mound. ;)
Agree. To bad Cat didn't have this kind of run support. If Cat gave up 1 run, (earned or unearned), the outcome was in doubt. If she gave up 2 runs we lost. If Cat had these batters behind her we would have 4 Natty's.
