TEXAS-IOWA STATE Game Thread

I'd take OSU plus the points. I think Poms is too pessimistic, but I also think we are less than 50/50 to win this game.

I picked us to lose it pre-season, and I stand by that right now. It's not that we are poor, rather it is that Okie Lite is very, very good.
 
I would probably give it around 50% and yes I think the opening line is surprising. I would say pick to ok st very slight favorite due to home field. I would expect that line to come down. Might be a good time for a middle.
 
Ok st had several players with injury issues coming into tcu game. We will have to see where that is later in the week. Probably has something to do with the opening line.

I am very surprised by that line.
I am thinking we will get our butts kicked like alab.....oh, wait...
no, I am sure we will lose by two tds.
Sanders will hurt us.
 
This is the biggest game of the year. If we win we are basically in the driver seat to make it to the conference championship. We still have better athletes. Texas is just as likely to lose to Kansas State as they are to beat Georgia.
 
My inner conspiracy theorist is coming out. I'm not understanding the hot and cold nature of this defense. Nails vs Bama and OU but mediocre in other outings.

I'm starting to believe that Patterson is spending weeks scouting and game planning defense for the big games and leaving the "lesser" opponents to K. The reason I say that is because in these "lesser" games where we seem to struggle the defense looks very similar to last year.

If that's the case I would expect OSU to have a hard time getting anything going this weekend meanwhile Patterson has already moved on to look at TCU.

Testing my conspiracy theory. I'm betting Patterson put all the marbles into that TCU game and the defense we saw last week will not be the defense you see against Kansas. I'm guessing Kansas will score....a lot. I just hope our offensive issues are solved.
 
Interesting take. I find it very plausible. If that’s the case, Sark would be smart to make a change and make Patterson the highest paid DC in the country.

You could be right about the score.
But the only difference you're seeing is the defense at home in front of sellout crowds playing the #1 and #4 teams in the nation, one being a conference rival, and playing on the road against lesser opponents.
