Texas-Iowa State Game Thread

Herman and the offense lost the game.

First with the entire first half game plan.

Second with Herman not kicking the field goal.

Third with our last drive where we went away from what worked the last two drives and just let Iowa State have the ball back.

Also, the offsides still falls under yet another special teams faux pas.
 
Sure get the ball back and play conservative and do what hasn’t worked all game and run run into a wall and punt. No excuses. This team has gone downhill from week to week. It’s play calling on both sides of the ball. Pathetic. Doing less with more one game at a time.
 
Herman needs to go. This is ridiculous. I get the feeling that if we had any other coach in the Big XII coaching, we would win that game. Again, Strong got three seasons, Herman should only get three seasons.
 
Poor discipline to jump offsides, a bogus DPI, poor play calls as if we were conceding a 3 and out.

But really we lost it by scoring 7 through the first three quarters. If we hadn't waited until the 4th quarter to run a reasonable offense, it would never have come down to that ending.
 
We play so scared. With Colt and VY, we would just go out there and tell the defense what we were going to do and still succeed with it. I feel like we're overcoming our own stupidity in wins and not overcoming it in losses because we're scared and weak and dumb. I'd take most of the Mackovic years over this ****. At least I had some fun watching guys like Pete or JB and Mike Adams.

Could not have said it better. Especially the last drive point. But I would ad that the football iq for some players has not been developed. You don’t jump offsides on defense when a team is kicking a field goal.
 
Wow Herman really is too small for this program. Clinched up on our last drive. Coaches scared, I guess he thinks it still Coog high.
He needs to go.

We wasted the entire first half except for the last 58 seconds. Running straight into the line against 7 or8 in the box. Just stupid stupid effort by the Horns!

Course if we had of gone for the FG we go for the FG again and lose by 3. So the fg wasn't the difference. Not slinging the ball when we got it at the 15 and then offsides were the. difference. 3rd and 10 and we run a slip screen. Run that on 1st down maybe, but not 3rd. What an idiot. Honestly D has gotten much better. Outside of the one really bad play and the 1st drive they didn't play bad. They made enough plays to win easily. O was terrible and when it finally gets going we shut it down. Just horrible horrible play calling and decision making. I'll be fishing next weekend. Not watching this crap again. Life's too short to waste it on these idiots. Wake we when we make another coaching hire.
 
We get the ball back with five minutes left and a one point lead. You have to figure we will need at least three first downs to ice it, maybe even four. You just went down the field through the air. Keep passing and attacking. Instead Mensa approaches it like there is a minute left and runs prep plays that are effectively taking a knee. Then you run a pass that even if caught has no chance to get a first down. Brilliant. The coaches let the players down. Then you jump offsides with 2+ minutes to go, which is the only thing you can’t dO in that situation. That is coaching because coaching has instilled no discipline with this team. The coaches job is to put the players in the best position to succeed and Mensa and company are failing miserably week after week. I could be wrong, but last year was a high water mark for hernan at Texas and it was 10-4. 7-5( or 8-4) with some luck is what we are going to get out of this staff. Recruiting is going to take a hit.
