TEXAS-IOWA STATE Game Thread 2023

The way I see it this was a gritty win. Dumb penalties made it so. The good part is the defense had to work their tails off the whole game and did an great job. A good experience on how to beat a good team and some referees set on giving the game away.

Sark looked as excited as I have seen him. Relieved too. The pressure surely has been tremendous but through it all he stayed calm and focused.
It is amazing to see how the team is around him. Having fun
Happy for him and the team:clap::yippee:
And really happy for US.:headbang:

Knowing when it’s time to work and buckle down, and when it’s time to have fun, to reap the rewards of victory, has to be attributed to the culture change created by Sark, his staff, and the players for going all in.
Winning again sure is FUN!
HOOK ‘EM :hookem:

No running game is going to be a problem. Baxter ain’t that guy. He just ain’t that guy.
Baxter is not Brooks. Brooks is more elusive, has better speed and sees the hole quicker.
That being said, Baxter is pretty darn good. He is strong, when he breaks into the open he has an extra gear and is fast enough to run away from most defenders. He is a good enough receiver. And he is just a freshman. He will get better every game for a while yet. Baxter, Blue and Red are a combo that can take us to the championship.

For the first time this season, the team looked like they were having fun the entire game.
It was another game that will make me so glad to leave big 12 officials behind. After watching Worthy and Mitchell being held or mugged each game, I almost fainted when we finally got a PI call last night.

I can honestly say I never waivered from my support for Auburn even in that one game where he missed two fgs. He was solid before that game and I figured this was just an anomaly. He has done as well(without knowing the actual stats) as a few of our other great kickers.
Just do your thing Auburn.

We are crap on offense. Pure crap. Behind the sticks on every series. Disgusting.
This Dukesteer guy sometimes overreacts. (Sometimes?)

Last night was a very satisfying win as many have observed, the best game for me since Alabama. In hindsight, we really did dominate for most of the contest, and if not for some arguably ticky tack calls, we would’ve scored well into the 40s without too much trouble.

Quinn‘s arm is clearly not 100% yet and he did miss some throws. Yet overall, he had a good game. Baxter had his best as a Longhorn. What can you say about the Dancing Bear, and Murphy? Auburn. Witt…

Based on what I saw last night, this team may finally be close to putting it all together. I continue to be convinced that we can play with anyone, and I hope we get the chance to prove it, again, as we did in Tuscaloosa.
