Texas at Texas Tech March 25-27, 2022

I’m not laying blame on Harrison. A normally placed CF would have been in position to make that catch.

And last night, I’m not blaming Southard—it was the two errors that inning that tied the game, not Southard’s pitching.

The High Plains can do strange things to the brain.

Whitehead in as a pinch runner for the lumbering Skye Messinger at first. C’mon Horns. Campbell has flashed some power.

My best guess—CF dived but it bounced. No catch. Campbell scores. Kennedy doesn’t touch home on a play at the plate—or does he????

Yep. That’s the final call. Campbell scores. Kennedy missed the bag and was out at the plate.

12-11 us. Going to the bottom of the 10th where we’ll face the #8 batter.

Grand slam. Well, nobody could have seen THAT coming….

That’s 3 grand slams for the year for DuPlantier.

I said it two weeks ago. The beginning of the season was an anomaly. We were overrated.

We are not over rated, very solid team. Just because we lost to South Carolina and tech doesn’t mean a whole lot. This is a good team. we aren’t going to win every series and coming in with a high ranking these teams are all giving texas everything they got. Just keep working on your issues and when the playoffs come, this team should do well.

Some folks rarely say a positive word when things are going well, but come out of the woodwork when things go South a bit to make snarky comments.

This team is very good. Two extra inning games at Lubbock. Both of these teams are Regional-hosting or Omaha level clubs.

Tristan had a freakishly bad outing. First one I remember. He’s very, very good though. Nixon is in a funk, including that bizarre home steal. He’ll snap out of it. The development of Eckhardt and Harrison is a solid positive. And this lineup is out hitting the opposition—even in the games we drop. We’ll be all right. This team looks as good as last year, and we were within a few outs of the national championship. This is an Omaha level team. Don’t get down on them.

As far as DuPlantier, he’s just not the same since his injury. Bring him along slowly. Bases loaded against a top 25 team is probably not the best time to put him in.

We lost to more than those teams. And our pitching that was supposed to be great has not been. 16 runs? We have a 4 run lead in the 8th and lose? I am not saying we are a horrible team. We are average.

And I have been an avid Longhorn Fan in ALL sports since 1970, when I saw my first game in person (Football, UCLA). I am not a fair-weather fan, but I try to be honest.

We lost both games in the first inning and then sloppy stuff in the late innings. Pitching is either good or abysmal, nothing in between.
