Spurs vs. Lakers

Well, with Joey Crawford behind the whistle tonight, this should be interesting.

Regardless, I was finally happy with the Spurs performance on Sunday. It was nice to have Manu finally back in his rhythm, but I only hope he can do it again tonight. He’s a bit banged up, but I think maybe he’s confidence will help him in tonight’s match up.

Despite some talk on here, I like Oberto. As mentioned, his passing is pretty good for a big man and he usually gets in there to rebound. I think having Thomas in there more will also help though. He’s been around enough to limit those “rookie” type mistakes and is a good big body to throw into the mix. I was also impressed with Barry’s passing on Sunday.

Fun game tonight I hope and I think the Spurs can pull off a win if they make the necessary adjustments on defense throughout the game.

I would rather see Crawford in SA for game 4 than in LA for game 5. It's actually setting up nicely if Steve Javie works game 5. He's the one you want on the road.

Still, the Spurs need to ignore the officiating and shut up and play. The last game Crawford did against NO, Pop lost his mud and the team seemed to follow suit. I still don't know how the NBA lets Crawford ref playoff games against the Spurs with their history. It just reeks of impropriety, especially against the ratings driving Lakers. You know Crawford is going to hear it tonight from the crowd.

Regardless, should be a good game. We'll find out what the Lakers are all about tonight. I really would like to see Barry get almost all of Finley's minutes. He's a much bigger threat on offense, and his defense isn't much worse. Finley is killing my will to live, lately. Also, it wouldn't suck if Horry could knock down an open 15 footer, much less a three. It may be too much to ask for at this point in his career.

After last round, when Chris Paul turned out to be the biggest flopper on the court, Paul Gasol is looking like the biggest whiner on the court this round. He's out-complaining Duncan right now; maybe he should concentrate on out-rebounding him instead. 21-5 last game.

I expect to see Barry playing more PG behind Tony. Barry has been more productive than Jaques Vaughn.

Plus, that frees up Manu to be the whirling dervish. Go Spurs Go!

how are people still bringing up the refs and wondering what's in store for the spurs (even if it is crawford)? for all the talk about how much the nba was going to make the boston/LA final happen through its refs, tim duncan has shot more than twice as many free throws as kobe bryant and pau gasol combined through 3 games. kobe, who averaged 9 fta/game in the regular and 5 per game against the spurs, has 2 in the last 2 games. i think we can forget about this angle at this point.

the lakers come out as the aggressor and yet are being doubled up at the foul line and brent barry now has twice as many free throws in this game (4) without going to the basket once as kobe does since the end of game 1 (2). with the momentum now, the spurs are going to make this 2-2.

maybe a little karma with barry not getting the foul there. kobe with no free throws, spurs with a bunch the whole game, duncan running odom over and getting a blocking foul. but they never call those at the ends of games.

definite fix by the nba. that's why duncan had 11 free throws and kobe 0, the spurs 26 and the lakers 19, why odom got called for goaltending on parker's layup when it wasn't goaltending (trade those 2 for barry's 2 ft's and we're back at the same score, seems fair). damn refs really screwed the spurs over tonight.

What's Kobe supposed to say? It was a bad no call by a Ref who has it out for the Spurs. That being said, the Spurs didn't deserve to win anyway.

You think that was bad....wait until you see how bad Detroit is going to get F'ed in Boston. NBA wants a Boston v LA series so bad they'll do just about anything.

Don't blame Kobe for his remarks. What a stupid question by Sager just moments after the game ended.

What hell else was he supposed to say?

I'm not a Kobe fan, but I fully expected that reaction seconds after the game ended.
