So Texas Is #21?

I think yesterday’s complete performance was arguably an annihilation.

I wouldn't go that far. We looked spectacular in some ways, solid in some, weak in others - like you'd expect from a week 1 team still finding themselves and playing against non-pushover competition. Granted ULL, while no patsies, didn't look like a top 25 team either. I'd say we played like a number 15ish team while they played more like a number 45ish team.

This really has me respecting Sark. Think about it:
New coach hired "late"
Comes in during a once-in-a-100 years pandemic
Has recruits he's never met
Has to quickly recruit for his team's needs
Has to recruit via teleconferencing
Has to recruit and coach with Wokeness still groaning on
Has to recruit coaches - most of whom he's never worked with
Has to mesh coaches with his philosophies
Must chose between 2 young QB's (1 with 0 college experience)
Plus, plus, plus
All of this at one of the biggest football programs in the country.

So far, I'm impressed. Hopefully, I'll stay that way for many years and championships ahead.

I agree, Godz..I love the comeback story for Sark.....I want UT to be a part of it and it be seen to full and complete fruition.
Hearing Sark's humility and referencing all he's learned and his growth personally and as a coach...all I am seeing and hearing from him points to a true learner, a student of life, willing to be humbled, to learn, to change, to grow.
Now that's some real mensa stuff.
And we can go along for the ride and benefit together. I love the -potential- in this story.

In the vein of voters who voted for Hudson Card to win QB battle after he was named the starter, I would like to enter my best guess for UTs ranking this week when it comes out.
I will say. ......

Go ahead and put down your Week 1 score prediction here, too.

Edit: Insert hilarious dancing Sombrero Guy emoji <here>

Aggy at 5 with their unimpressive QB is something
Look, I can't stand aTm sports, but their team last year was pretty good other than QB play. If they still haven't fixed that glaring weakness, they might best the also-rans in their conference, but Bama is likely to put a big whoopin' on them.

IMHO:

Too high: Penn State, aTm, Iowa State, Ole Miss, Coastal Carolina

Too low: UCLA, Texas, Oklahoma State
Question is how much Coastal jumps if they blow out KU...and it will HAVE to be a blow-out- they are favored by close to four touchdowns right now on the early line.

You have done a superb job at predicting the past. As one of my favorite philosophers, Yogi Berra, is reputed to say - "Prediction can be very difficult, especially when it involves the future." :)

Speaking of having an amazing grasp of the obvious, my 44 year old daughter went to her first Texas game Saturday, invited to a suite. She is now a Texas Football expert.

After, she asked me if I participate in the message boards. (Ahh, why do you think I am looking at my iPhone for endless hours every day, night, weekends?) I told her that I am all over HornFans but that Orangebloods is better known. Her next comment was quite insightful:

“Apparently Orangebloods is going down hill. You should get on Inside Texas Message Board.”

Apparently the 60 + years I have invested in Texas football has resulted in an accumulation of virtually no knowledge or insight.

What was I thinking?

Insolence knows no bounds, ole duke.

Talk about little respect and others receiving to much for the name on the jersey.

Texas did not crack the Top 25 this week in either poll but is the #26 in both. But, Clemson stays in with 2 loses and one of those loses is to a non-ranked team NC State.

At least our lose was to the now #8 and #11 ranked team in the AP Poll and Coaches Poll respectively.

I guess the last two weeks with dominant performances doesn't even merit a Top 25 ranking for us any longer. Our brand is no longer any good...hopefully this season changes that narrative.

Yeah that’s weird — we will have to earn back the respect

Other 3-1 teams who made the top 25 (in at least one poll):
Florida
tOSU
A&M
UCLA
Auburn
NC State

I'm just fine with it. Keep these guys hungry. Win the next 2 weeks to get to 5-1 and we'll get noticed.
