SLEEPLESS in SEATTLE

Stupid question. What big corps have left actual Seattle?
announced this week: this little upstart company named AMAZON....they are not renewing leases downtown...they occupied several buildings...now, they are coming over to Bellevue (Eastside of Lake Washington)...
Columbia Sportswear....almost all the restaurants that were downtown are gone....too many couldn't get people to work there because of the dangerous environment when they got off work....
couple of more that are not popping in my tired mind....

Dorsey looks like he should be pouring me an IPA at Spiderhouse.
NINE BILLION DOLLARS.......he's worth

I like Cruz, but he was wrong on a point. Lumber Jack was right when he said the NY Post could delete the original tweet to open the account and then go back and retweet the same one and go from there. The issue is mechanics not policy. Cruz was wrong to cut him off and do a gotcha.

Cruz proved he was right and Jack was wrong by trying to put up the link to the NY Post article on his Twitter feed AFTER the hearing and it was still not allowed. Why should the NY Post have to correct Twitter's error? Why can't Twitter fix it themselves if they are at fault?

That is sad and scary since no one in local government is willing to do what us necessary to stop it
Austin is headed that way.
How is it where you live TEXn.?

Wow Texn
That is spectacular.
So you are far enough away from the crap it will not spread to you?
thanks, so much
from my place to Seattle is an hour ferry ride and a thirty minute drive from the ferry....so, if things come out this far....we are all in deep doo-doo....

Oh man, Hobby area to that! Yeah I’d say blessed!
The biggest blessing came with being able to design and build my own home....the DAD of the lady I went with was the greatest guy and he found a piece of property in West Lake Hills back in the early seventies and built his home and a 20x40 swimming pool hanging off one side....I never really forgot going out to visit him during the middle of the construction and carried that around in the back of my mind for 35 years. It was 2.5 years of designing and tons of work, but the house turned out beyond my expectations....

actually, Glenbrook Valley, just North of Hobby was an incredible neighborhood...huge homes, big lots...that's where we went looking at the Christmas lights every year when I was a kid....I grew up a couple of mile west of there and it was a very nice area when I grew up....there was NOTHING that could have been better about the time and place of my growing up...still in touch with every single kid on two blocks and we all marvel at how PERFECT that time and place was....everyone was like family....and still is! THAT is a BLESSING!

My wife's parents lived on Colgate when we met in the early 90s. Most of the houses had bars on the windows by that time.

....Colgate? a street near Hobby? YES, I know exactly where that is....that area was "transitioning" in the mid-70's, maybe sooner....my parents stayed in the house I grew up in until the mid-80's and moved out to Clear Lake and near NASA...beautiful area out in the trees....
