SLEEPLESS in SEATTLE

Being a "Communist" is all fun and games when you live in a country that allows you to choose that thought. When its forced down your throat and up your *** however, you'll quickly change your mind.
Ain't that the truth. Take a young homosexual walking around in a Che t-shirt. He should first look into how his pal Che treated guys like him before donning that t-shirt. Of course, you could say the same about Lenin, Stalin, and Chairman Mao.

It makes you wonder if Rage Against the Machine has been labeled a "hate group" in places like Seattle...?

you are spot-on....the original "WAR LORD" of the CHOP, chop....was a major homophobe and had rap songs that sung about what he's do to them....
these idiots are so clueless and ignorant of any history, it would come as a shock to them....
the big thing about THIS far-left is that they beat on each other often...why? no one is far ENOUGH left....happens almost nightly at their riots...

In Seattle‘a Chop zone, and everywhere else, the hard left will always ultimately fall apart. Too much ideology. Too many contradictions. No willingness to compromise.

The anarchists will always fight with the communists, etc. Even if we woke up tomorrow and everyone was a communist, there would still be a war between the different types of communists. These people are ideologues in the extreme. Read Orwell on the Spanish Civil War.

And yes, back to the original thought, when communists take over, they do tend to kill off the homosexuals. A great irony: if you are a person outside the mainstream (in whatever way), the best place for you by far is a liberal Western democracy. Yet, so many of these outside-the-mainstream folks are hell bent on tearing down the very Western Civ that protects them from a violent and hostile world.

One brand of anarchy is Anarcho-communism or Anarcho-syndicalism. CHOP was basically one of these both are far Left.

Anarcho-capitalism would be a Right movement, and I would be more supportive of something like that.

We’ve seen real world examples of hard-left anarchy (Seattle chop zone, Barcelona in most of the Spanish Civil War, etc.). All such experiments have failed miserably.

Do you know of any real world examples of this capitalist anarchy? Fictional novels by Ayn Rand don’t count. I’m skeptical it would work. The Hanseatic League is about the closest I could think of, but even with their private navies, banks, markets, and fleets, they still existed in land within (and therefore ultimately protected by) an Empire (Holy Roman Empire), or nation states (Poland, Denmark, Lithuania, etc.).

Maybe the Wild West was effectively a capitalist anarchy with private armies of gunslingers, volunteer militias, the Pinkertons, and railroad and mining companies doing whatever they wanted...? I guess that was ok for a while (for some people), but those big railroads and mining companies ultimately captured the previously minimal or non-existent governments to do their bidding. See Montana, Arizona, probably other Western states and territories as well.

I agree wholeheartedly.

As far as I know Rand wasn't an anarchist, but was a total arrogant *****. I think it COULD work, though it hasn't been tried. I think anything closer to it is a step up from where we are today.

It probably got close at times.

Well, the Wild West certainly holds a prominent place in the national mindset and culture--so you might be onto something. Its success would depend, in large part, on the goodness or evil of the most powerful individuals and entities operating in a land without law.

That is not Capitalism. Far from it.

Well at least here in Texas, it's not as if we've ever had a mineral extracting industry effectively owning the state government before (for better and for worse)...
:rolleyes1:

Eat that Seattle!

there is not going to be any $$$$ left in the kitty after everyone moves out and all the small businesses can't make it because of the big guy is no longer there....
