Rockets' back to wall

Blaming McGrady for losing this series would be like blaming Kevin Durant for Texas losing to USC last year.

yeah, I wouldnt blame him for this; the whole supporting cast looks timid except for maybe scola. I would take back bonzi for bobby jackson right about now too..

This is not the same team I saw during the long win streak. They are playing tight. Rushing shots, or taking too long. Very few in rhythm.

During the win streak, when they were playing loose, they could dial up a three whenever they needed it, which enabled them to spread the floor, drive easier... etc.

Game 6, Rockets still alive! The effort and execution tonight was fantastic. They definitely were the more physical aggressive team early in the game. Keep it up! Go Rockets!!!

My streak of being undefeated at TC stands!! Maybe they should fly me & my son to Utah!!

McGrady is playing great this series. Isn't he averaging like 23/8/8? I really hope we can pull out the win Friday on my birthday!!

So far, this series has gone just as I expected:

1. I held off as long as I could, but, finally, I fired off an email to David Stern telling him that the NBA was the WWF and that he was a felon. I am certain that I personally have affected the overall vibe of the series via the refs now.

2. Now that I have imposed my will on this series, the Rockets shall perform the rarely seen but breathtakingly moving Clutch City Redux.

You can all thank me next week for a Lakers series in which you can stomach to root for somebody involved.

Since Rafer came back we have given Utah two tough games in SLC and as Hollinger on SI said "beat the tar out of them in game 5." The pressure is solely on the Jazz now because although they won game 7 last year...After this beating they've got to be feeling that game 6 is their shot to move on.

And...Can I give a nod towards the person who had the sign that said: Utah...Where nothing happens.

Well, the Austin American-Statesman web site is being prophetic with their headline this morning - Houston Rockets force Game 7 against Jazz

Link

I'm pretty sure they will correct it, but it's amusing while it lasts. .

I also liked the one that said: Utah: Where Cheating Happens

There were some very good signs last night.

Ok first off, is this game really at 9:30??

Anyway I know they can, but will the Rockets win tonight.
Seriously?

Pretty sure it's at 9:30 just like 3 & 4. I think tonight we follow the Wizards and Cavs? I actually am looking forward to watching that game after Washington stunned me with their victory in Cleveland.

I have no idea if the Rockets will win...But I'm excited and looking forward to this epic brawl.

As a spurs fan, I think it is good that Utah won. I think Utah has the better chance of beating LA, and San Antonio has the better chance of beating Utah over LA.

Gotta hand it to Utah - they did it tonight. Hate them, but hats off. McGrady gave a great performance tonight, but he just picked the wrong game to have it. Utah came out smoking tonight.

T-Mac goes 40-10-5, 50% from the field. He could have gone for sixty and it would not have mattered. MJ in his prime, on fire, couldn't have willed a win tonight with the help T-Mac got. He had no help at all tonight.

I know ESPN will crow about T-Macs seventh first round exit in a row, but, what they need to be putting together, posthaste, is The Five Reason Why You Can't Blame T-Mac for His Playoff Doldrums.

None of the Houston media better have one bad thing to say about T-Mac. If they do, I hope he pillages their homes and steals their women.

Deep breath.

Well, at least Scola, Landry, and Brooks got some experience in a playoff series that was stacked against them, and they had some competent moments.

If the Rockets can just stay healthy, pick up somebody to back-up Alston with quality minutes or for Alston to back up with quality minutes, and Novak can go on a vision quest during summer league to unlock the secrets of minimally acceptable NBA defense, the Rockets could be serious contenders next year.

I am developing an unhealthy disgust for the word "next".

Thank you Rockets for an amazing end to the season and playoff effort. Sometimes guts and heart just aren't enough.

On a related note, thank you to Gene Peterson for over 30 great years of Houston Rockets basketball on the radio. You will be sorely missed. The best to you in retirement, sir.

That was tough to take.

After coming back at the end of the first half I really thought they would go in, refocus and come out ready to fight...Hell, even Boozer thought it was going to be a tough second half.

I wasnt overly optimistic when I heard Rafer was not going to be able to play but I figured we'd fight to the end. T-Mac was amazing....Almost too amazing as the offense seemed to become that old 'Give the ball to T-Mac/Yao and stand around".

Oh well....On to the next year.
