Rockets' back to wall

Okay Rox fans....how bout you give us Yao and we give you guys Jason Kidd and Josh Howard?

You guys finnally get a real point guard and let Skip play the two or be a 6th man. In Josh you get a great defender, slasher and another player capable of scoring 25 a night.

I really do think that in another week all three Texas teams will be fishing.

Bobby Jackson does not belong on an NBA playoff roster. Having him brick two free throws and then follow that up with two piss poor shots is what did the Rockets in. He should not have been the one attempting to create at that point. After that sequence, it was a done deal.

If people haven't realized the last three years what McGrady is, they haven't been watching close enough. He's a tremendous talent, and the fact he can't will a team to playoff victory after playoff victory shouldn't be a major criticism anymore. He is what he is.

There are only so few who can do what those with unrealistic expectations have asked of McGrady. He's no Kobe, LeBron, or Duncan, but is there really anything wrong with that? Of course not. I see Tracy as more of a David Robinson in terms of his ability and skillset for his position but, with it, a lack of that extra edge to consistently put a team on his shoulders time after time. It took Duncan to get Robinson his title, and it'll have to take Yao to get Tracy his title with the Rockets, but like the Admiral it doesn't take anything away from McGrady's talent. With Yao hurt, the Rockets have had no chance from the opening tip. Bobby Jackson and Aaron Brooks against Deron Williams? Are you kidding?

TMac IS soft. And it's nothing new. He's always been soft. O for the 4th quarter in the series when you are the best player on the team (playing that is) is weak. And by soft, I mean weak-minded, no killer instinct, no real will to win.

I had major surgery on Friday and was recuperating nicely until I decided to watch this game. T-Mac did not suck it up in the 4th like he needed to. It would have been nice if they could have provided me, a fan of theirs for more than 22 years, a lift when I could have used it the most.

Rafer Alston is not the 2nd coming of Steve Nash, but they do need him - that may not be enough to beat Utah, but it would certainly help. Obviously they're better with Yao, BUT, I'm discounting his absence due to the tremendous success they had without him.

Bobby Jackson is NOT, repeat NOT, an NBA starter. He is a gunner that is best used off the bench for occasional scoring binges. Having him as a starter proves how short-handed they are.

Hook'em!!!

Husker you are the one who is wrong on this. Does Tmac have a great deal of talent? Yes. Did he play pretty well for 3 quarters last night? Yes. Did he disappear once again in the 4th quarter? Yes. Does he do that often? Yes.

Like someone stated earlier, Tmac shoots a bad percentage from the field because he settles for jumpshots instead of using his athletic ability and size to get to the goal.

The bottom line is he has 1 freaking point in the 4th quarters of the first two playoff games. This is from your all-star and best player (outside injured Yao). And its not from lack of attempts. Its from being soft and not attacking the defense. Its also why he continues to get nicked up every season, and why he makes excuses after games ("i'm tired

). It's because he's soft. Not saying he's not talented, becasue he is. I'm saying he's Charmin Soft.

I get as frustrated as anyone that McGrady settles for those off balance 20 foot jumpers....but HE IS NOT the reason we're losing this series. Anyone that thinks that is a moron.

Make free throws and layups and we're up 2-0.
End of story.

He couldn't see Boozer because the Rockets forced him to his left.

Great win. Now let's even it at 2.

Not a big surprise Houston won last night being down 2-0 at the time, but Utah will win Game 4 by 15. I hope I'm wrong, of course, but when one team's back is against the wall oftentimes that team with its better intensity, will to win and overall desperation usually turns out victorious. That's what happened last night - Houston needed the game far more than Utah. But tomorrow night the Jazz will need to win as much as Houston to prevent the Rockets from getting home court and more momentum, and when the Jazz are at their best the Rockets cannot win, especially in Utah.

When you look back at 1994, when the Rockets took down the Suns after losing the first two at home, Houston had Hakeem, something the Suns had no answer for. Truthfully, though, in this year's series with Utah there is nothing the Rockets have that the Jazz can't withstand over a long series. On the other hand, Houston cannot stop Deron Williams at his best and doesn't have enough interior size and strength to get all the loose balls and rebounds they got last night. Again, when Utah matches Houston's intensity, the Jazz are at a clear advantage.

Here's hoping I can get on here and eat crow Sunday...

I don't understand why people are still counting Houston out. Some are dismissing Game 3, saying that Houston had their back to the wall and Utah was over-confident. Well, if we lose Game 4, we're down 3-1, so I'd say we still have our backs against the wall.

Utah was playing at HOME where they're supposedly invincible, and that's the 2nd time Houston has beaten them there this season.

Rafer Alston is back, and everyone should now know what he means to the team.

Lets not act like Houston played perfect. Neither did Utah of course, with all the missed FTs, but notice how Houston's game has been improving game by game. I don't see why that pattern can't continue. You can't say the same about Utah, and that's why they should be concerned.

Scola can shoot much better. I think in the 4th quarter, he finally realized that he needs to go into the contact to draw the foul, instead of avoiding it and putting up a wild shot. I expect Scola to play much better. Unless Landry gets hurt again, we can get more out of him. Jackson can give us more off the bench too.

I just hope Battier is healthy enough to play well. His limp was very noticeable at the end of Game 3. If he can't play, someone like a Mike Harris has to step up.

nice rebound there at the end last night tmac; way to knock it out of your own mans hands. not surprised they fought back and could have had the last shot down 2 last night, then go and not get a rebound on a missed free throw. had a bad feeling that was going to happen..

The gentleman in my sig should've been in the game to get that FT rebound. Asking T-Mac to box out Boozer and Landry to box out Okur (Boozer + Okur combined for twice the amount of rebounds as Scola + Landry + Hayes) is asking too much.

The only justification for Adelman not subbing in Deke was they didn't want to call a timeout after the rebound so that Utah couldn't set their defense.

I'm also surprised that Loren Woods isn't getting any time in this series. I thought his size would help us out a ton on the boards when Deke was resting.

the star status of tracy mcgrady is mindboggling to me. How many times does he need to pathetically choke series after series away before someone catches on to his bit.

@$@ it...I don't care. It's gonna be a hell of a game come Tuesday night either way I'm sure. Go Rockets!!!
