Ricky Seals-Jones

I think it's kind of funny that they blasted us for oversigning by 3 last year, and now they're all for it in the SEC. Taking a play out of Miles/Saban's books.

I can't blame RSJ for signing there either. They're easily the pick of the state right now, and Mack/Dodds don't understand why. It's also sad that Swoopes was supposed to be a determining factor in where RSJ would go to college and he ended up being just that... a determining factor to send a kid elsewhere.

My premise is correct. Perhaps my wording of "not understanding why" is wrong... they probably just don't have a good way to counter A&M's rise. Or at least a good way to counter A&M's rise without firing themselves.

"absurd advantage"

It's not an absurd advantage if you are doing it right.

As for Swoopes, all it really takes is one look at Manziel's film and one at Tyrone to see why that wouldn't work in our favor.

I'm pretty sure taking more players than everyone rose is a massive advantage. So RSJ committed because of Manziel? That's a little weird. Did Baylor pull top flight talent because of RG3?

What I meant about RSJ. It's surprising to me that a guy like him would look at a Texas recruit vs an aggy starter and base his entire college career on their game footage. Now, if you're saying that aggy is more appealing right now that's another argument. The post above suggested that he was picking his college destination based on an individual player.

Oh I'm sure there's more to it than Swoopes vs. Manziel. I just think it was one of the contributing factors.

Texas never had a chance with RSJ. No way Dickerson lets him go to Texas. In fact I am sure Dickerson was not disturbed by the commitment in hopes that the decommitment would embarrass Texas.

Yes, Dickerson hates us for numerous reasons not the least of which is making him the recruitig poster boy for "If you go to some nobody-cares school like SMU, it won't matter how good you are, you aren't getting any major hardware'; for pointing out if he had gone to Texas or OU, he'd have won the Hype$man; for constantly reminding recruits that SMU was the only undefeated team in America & still didn't get voted #1; that his SMU team couldn't draw 35,000 to The Cotton Bowl against Pitt.

Dickerson also hates A&M for turning SMU in, but that was really more of a deal with Meyer being a prick to A&M during recruiting.

I'm sure Dickerson takes great glee in seeing his mother's relative turned down Texas, just like he took great glee in standning over our injured LB and laughing to the media saying, "He ain't hurt, he just ain't tough enough".

Eric Dickerson is what he has always been and always will be, a classless piece of ****. I don't think RSJ is cut from the same cloth, and I wish him all the best.

Dickerson is undoubtedly a POS, but I've always thought the Trans Am story was one of the funniest recruiting tales ever. I picture some Longhorn-hating, maroon-Cadillac-driving Century Club member bragging to the boys at the Petroleum Club about the future All American he's just bought for the Ags. Then he gets the phone call he'll never forget. The little weasel is keeping the car, but he's going to play at SMU. I would have paid good money to be a fly on the wall when he got the news. The beautiful part is, who does he complain to? Crooks can't call the cops.
