"Understaffed"? Horse ****! When they were fully staffed, they still hired private investigators to try to check out piss-poor leads.

Also, how would he even know what the Texas fans are like? He's been here for a little more than a hot minute.
Social media and how he's been treated on campus and online.
He also mentions how players are treated when they leave.
Fans wishing them the best rather than attacking them for leaving.
It seems to me he's been active on message boards, twitter, etc.
So he has an idea of how fans have reacted on his visits and also on online platforms as compared to how Bama fans act in similar situations.

Could be that Texas's fans are warm towards the players, but harsh towards the coaches.
Herman’s comments if you recall were how the fans and boosters treated the players. This player is saying the exact opposite of what Herman said.

I think you are right Hall reads social media which I am sure includes Hornfans.
On here 99,9% of us have always wished a player who left good luck. That includes several lately
Wonder why Bama fans would not

I will sound like a homer but I think that the class and caliber of Texas fans, in general, exceeds that of almost any other big-time college program. In fact, I’m not sure that I can name a top-tier program that would compare in that respect. Perhaps Stanford? It certainly wouldn’t be Ohio State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Michigan, USC, or even our lowlife “friends” in Brazos County. So I can believe that a prospective player could be impressed by the general positivity of the fan base with respect to players who have been with the program previously.

Guess I could agree on that aspect Duke but I do often question our ‘game day’ passion in the stadium.

I think I understand and yet wonder. Proud if it. It is easier to understand during long periods of winning. Easy to be gracious when you have expectation and reality of winning.( exhibit A. Nebr)
But we have had no expectation or reality of winning for years yet we still have wished players who have left good luck
AND followed cheered where ever they went
Shane is an example.
No matter what it is still TEXAS. I don't think Bama ou etc can feel that way.Football is All they have.
Michigan maybe. Stanford could but they don't seem passionate fans

Speaking of football, I just checked the results of the Longhorn other sports, men and women. Some are still in progress but based on conference championship finishes and early ncaa tournament wins, it wouldn’t surprise you to know that football and men’s basketball are the worst performing sports, slightly edging out women’s soccer who won an ncaa tourney game this year. That is all.

Mathis, the ex TCU edge and strong Texas lean that just chose Nebraska, listed just such things and what made the difference for he and his family.
Noted, anong other things, social media warmth, community feel, family atmosphere on campus, older alumni serving on campus and the feel and warmth of the people on media and in person on visits...with older community members mixing with alumni and current students to create a family type net and culture of influence, support, and love that seemed geuine to him.

Amazing
I hope they don't find he was doped.
I know they are saying the outsider did what was ok to keep Rich Strike from biting the pony but punching Rich Strike in the head seems extreme
