Random Season News

It is still wrong, but, hey if everyone is doing it be the best one at it.
If it means they have to play in the bowl game to get paid, maybe it’s okay. By the way, I haven’t seen any details if this is true.

^^^ #6 ?

... unless 2022 season is somehow a repeat of Fred Akers team in 1977, out of left field that surprised college football.

As much as our competitors hate Texas it looks like the sports media does too. Let's put Texas at #6 just so half way through the season so we can start writing articles about how once again Texas falls short of expectations. Let's see, new QB and a defense that ranked about 121st out of 120 teams last season, what a &^%*ing joke.

Just like that team there from colij stayshun not in the top 3. That's a travistee when everone nows therrey the besstesst.

Not only that but preseason now the entire country can ridicule Texas for always being overrated.

UTSA doesn't scare anyone. The best team they beat last season was WKU, and that was by a score. The moment they played a ranked team in the bowl (SDSU, who was #24 in the final poll and #53 in the Sagarin ratings), they got crushed. The only thing they have going for them outside of their star RB is a mish-mash of transfer players who don't have any unique film playing together, hence, taking some defenses by surprise. I think we'll beat them worse than we beat ULL last year.

Former Alabama WR Hall transferring to Texas

Hall wound up playing sparingly as a freshman, catching four passes for 72 yards.

He was then suspended by Alabama coach Nick Saban for violation of team rules earlier this month and entered the transfer portal.

Not sure what to think here since I don't know what he did wrong and if the punishment was fair. But it sure looks like a "Ok, I'll break the rules - and you can't suspend me, because I quit" deal. I hope I'm off on that one.

I'd rather have an experienced #3 ranked OT, but I'll have to trust Sark knows the kid's character better than I do.

Best NIL deal yet....

John Daly II, the son of PGA pro John Daly, is Hooters' first NIL ambassador. “I have seen my father’s great relationship with Hooters over the years, and I am proud to continue my family’s association with this iconic brand.”

I believe Saban mentioned the word "again" when he talked about the rules violation. Hopefully it won't matter when he moves
here.

I suspect Sark has had a tough-love conversation with this kid. Something like: I'm giving you a second chance, blah, blah, don't blow it....

Daly II looks exactly like a younger version of his dad...

As for his guests, ahhh..... "faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, and more money" Tom T. Hall
