Random Season News

Samuel Cosmi weighed ~260 on signing day, after flipping from UH to Texas.
After a redhsirt, he started 13 games at OT as a RS freshman playing at ~295.
Now listed at 6'7,300, he is the highest-graded run blocker among returning Big 12 offensive tackles.

Get your new Nikes for just $129.99. These look hideous to me. What am I missing?

IMO, for the last several years, Nike's artistic sense has been really awful with a few exceptions like last season's old-school Texas baseball hats. The recent extra baggage has turned me into a non-buyer of anything Nike, even if I like it.

Not necessarily. Fields got his waiver approved @ Ohio St. So did that QB that went from OSU to Miami (Tate Martens?). It seems there is a better chance for waiver approval if you are a college football blue blood.
I would tend to agree with you but Cameron did a normal transfer and was denied. McCoy would have more than likely been approved if he didn't transfer back to USC based on the whole Kingsbury situation. I doubt that the NCAA is going to approve based on home sickness unless he had a family member who is sick or something we don't know about.

Interesting...I gather McCoy's will be denied too.

If they deny his transfer to Texas request then I guess he wont have to re-apply for re-admission to SC as the original will be the default.
My take on the NCAA is this new rule is making them work harder than they like to work, so they are probably wishing they never did it.

Luke Ford left Georgia for Illinois for family reasons and he was still denied. Fields worked the system fairly well, but no way Martell should have had his approved.

Drayton on Ingram and Whittington +

"If you had a chance to come out and watch us in the spring, there's no doubt about it that those two flashed a lot.

says Jordan Whittington is 220 pounds after walking into his RB room at 200.

Orlando on if he tried to make a case to get freshman Jordan Whittington onto his side of the ball or gave up that effort: "If you were in our room and on our practice field watching him play RB, I gave up on him."

If you watched with a close eye, there was Kirk Johnson." "He was as explosive as those two guys you mentioned in the spring."

Also speaks highly of Daniel Young. "I feel good about all four of those guys having a role."

Had to post this again because it's one of my favorite memories ever at DKR. I also love this video because it shows the young woman who started the whole thing. Loved this, can't wait for another season!!
