And what's pathetic is that NYC Democrats ousted Elliott Engel in the primary for this guy. Engel was pretty liberal, but he was a serious legislator who actually got bills passed. He knew what his job was and did it well. But they chose a grandstanding assclown who will probably never pass a piece of meaningful legislation even if he stays there for 60 years.
More and more, Liberal politicians are merely street activists without any thought beyond getting what they want and getting it now. They are obsessives who believe they have the moral superiority and press moral imperatives on behalf of their constituents. They are so obsessed, they believe the Constitutional process should be bypassed and that Liberal judges should just "make things right." Check the Washington state Supreme Court which ruled that a graduated capital gains tax is Constitutional (even though the Constitution specifically say's, no graduated tax rates), meaning they can now tack on a new rate on capital gains over $250K. If I read the article correctly, they are treating the new tax rate as a transactional rate and not one one property (which is how stocks are viewed). They just made sh*t up. We all know that's what they do. But the activists have whipped everyone into such a frenzy with their over the top emotions that they are mobbing the country with their desires. Of course, the first amendment didn't apply when Trump made some comments prior to Jan 6th (which included these words, " "I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard."). But for Liberals, all is game and their game is to use hysteria to get their way.

Today I listened to a speech from a guy from Gun Owners Of America (GOA). They are actually better on gun rights than the NRA. He was talking about Republicans in the Texas state government who campaign on gun rights and then once in office work to foil gun right legislation. Keep your eyes open for gun grabbers in patriots clothing.
Yep, I remember talking to the GOA lobbyist in the late '90s. To them, the NRA is a bunch of weanies. He explained the difference.
He said that when the Left says the NRA carries water for gun manufacturers, they aren't wrong. He was quick to say that he's fine with them making money, but he says gun activists need to understand that this isn't the same thing as a true ideological commitment to the Second Amendment even if the agendas often overlap. The GOA fills that gap.
Such a good idea to have events like this. I'm sure thugs, criminals and mob enforcers were lining up by the thousands to get a $500 gift card for their $1500 AR-15's.

Not surprising. And for $500, no ID required, no questions asked, most of them are probably stolen so someone can get a quick $500. Owner just gets another or a ghost gun.

The government knows and is okay with that. Law-abiding gun owners won't sell back weapons, so thieves will steal them and sell them back, the government has less stocked law-abiding gun owners.
Great profit. Can stop at Peter Lugar's on the way back for dinner with some of that profit $.
