President Biden Accountability Thread

No, Joe was smarter than everyone around him... ignore planned, organized pull out of most of rthe remaining civilians, support, contract labor, some military personnel.

No, just haul *** in the middle of the night with no warning like some 3rd world country would have done. Thus spooking the gov. and military were outta here MF!

Joe makes the Baltimore Colts move in the middle of a night seem well-planned, orderly and organized by comparison...

Hell, heard today will small # non combat advisor type presence there have been no US deaths in Afghan in 1.5 years. There was general stability in the country.

There was peace because Trump Admin negotiated a cease fire with the Taliban. Which the US then violated by staying past May 1. Still haven't heard that the Taliban is attacking Americans. So it sounds like they are abiding by it for American citizens.

Fighting directly involving American troops has been dropping for about 8 years. Haven't reached triple digits on fatalities since 2013. For the last several years, our troops were there as more of a forward presence than as a war machine.

The Taliban isn't going to kill Americans while we're leaving. Usually when someone is giving you what you want, you don't try to kill them.

Reasonable people who don't hate you for no other reason than being American don't kill you when you are giving them what they want. Maybe you'r right.

The Taliban is reasonable enough to know this. If they start killing Americans, people in the US will demand retaliation. There's no reason for them to do it. If they just stand by and let us go, then they can go back to letting terrorists build camps and stoning people.

Who will start demanding that? The media? Doubtful. RINOs? So what? They are as feckless as Biden. People like sane thinkers on here? Again, so what?

What will Biden or anyone else really do? Challenge them to a push up contest?

From our rocket scientist, President Joe Biden:

Troops staying in Afghanistan until evacuations complete | kvue.com

President Joe Biden says even with the Taliban in power in Afghanistan, he sees a greater threat from outposts of al-Qaida and its affiliated groups in other countries, and that it was no longer “rational” to continue to focus U.S. military power there.

We had 12,000 troops (I read that somewhere) over there. So what the heck, let's add a 3rd terrorist haven to the list but downplay because you know, they aren't as bad as the other two countries.

The Taliban are not as bad.

Wow Joe. You really know how to rate them don't you. Your clear-eyed geopolitical views are gonna' save us all.

So based on what we are seeing and using common sense that the Taliban won't shoot at Americans
Why are we not doing like the Brits and going out to get Americans trapped?
Why of 2000 evacuated Tues night through Wed only 325 were Americans?
Why did we abandon our embassy?

Ok, who calls himself "Dr. Interracial?" Lol.

Here's what I think is clear. Biden massively screwed up the withdrawal of forces. I don't know how much better Trump would have done, but I can't imagine that he would have done worse. It was a royal screw-up that basically hosed everybody - American civilians, Afghans who aided the West, and our NATO allies that Biden and Democrats usually say we need to be more attentive to. Obviously European leaders bellyache about the US all the time, but on this, it's hard to argue with them. For an Administration that claimed to be the "adults" and claimed to be so competent and professional, they sure looked arbitrary and sloppy.

Having said that, the crappiness of the process of our withdrawal is a short term problem. Eventually the westerners will get out. Some of those who helped the allies will become refugees (which the West will welcome and for many, it will be deservedly so), and those who don't will have their heads severed or be stoned to death and be forgotten. The two big problems that everyone from Biden to Trump supporters is forgetting is that a major supporter and enabler of terrorism has a state again and likely aspires to be a caliphate. There's no reason to assume that they won't go back to supporting and harboring terrorism again. To make matters worse, very predictably Russia and China are starting to cozy up to the Taliban to exploit our withdrawal from the region for their own empowerment.

We've managed to weaken our own position, empower terrorism, and strengthen our global enemies with one move. And while we're pointing fingers, we need to keep in mind that the long term problems would be happening regardless of who won the 2020 election, because both candidates were willing to unilaterally pull out. Furthermore, the American people were by polling supportive of it, and that is the result of the triumph of the false "endless war" narrative coupled with colossal failure to consider the consequences of withdrawal. Nobody thought about it or gave a ****. People believed there was constant fighting and troops getting killed every day, and the reality is that this hasn't been the case in several years, but we acted as though it was and our leadership was too weak to set the record straight. And of course, we're now going to face the consequences of our stupidity. Within the next few years, this move will almost surely cost American lives.

The flaw in your argument was that the Taliban was losing patience and was going to launch a spring offensive, requiring a surge in American troops. The status quo wasn’t sustainable.

Oh no! Not an offensive!

We destroyed the fourth largest army in the world in Iraq. We stood down the Red Army and thousands of nuclear weapons in Western Europe for over 45 years. We destroyed the Japanese Imperial Army and Navy. We routed the Wehrmacht at Normandy.

But if a few thousand mountain goat herders with relatively primitive weapons might launch an offensive, we surrender to terrorist enablers, sellout our allies and people who risked everything to help us, and give over our influence to a Russian thug and a gaggle of corrupt communists in China. What a pathetic nation of short-sighted quitters and *******. Damn, what would we do if we had to face a real enemy in a real war? We'd give up everything we have if they threatened our supply of weed and internet porn.

Don't know how much better Trump would have done?
Srsly?
His plan(as any logical plan would be) was to get American civilians out FIRST, then the Afghans who helped us, then destroy weaponry, then bring military out.
I am no military expert but that plan makes common sense.

Yep. However, Trump freeing 5,000 Taliban soldiers was not a good idea.

We also paid a lot of money to keep the Afghan soldiers on our side. Basically, fighting and money until eternity that we have little control over.

Sounds like being married to a bad spouse, which is a good analogy.
