Oh, and while it won't go for a score, there WILL be at least two plays where someone in the secondary tries to make a pick and not only misses, but allows the receiver to go for 30+ yards.

I'm afraid you're correct. Kris Boyd set the example for the youngsters. Although it may even go for a score.

Upon further review I may have made an error in predicting the Horns would hold the Dawgs to 13.
After watching Herman's presser and hearing the coach's name is Holtz I finally did research. So Skip is Lou's son but he has been a pretty decent coach beating Miami, Clemson and His alma mater Notre Dame while at USF before getting fired. He was also a pretty good offensive coordinator. 13 points may be wishful thinking on my part.
Interestingly Holtz was fired from USF where Strong is now coach . The Coach at LaT before Holtz was Sonny Dykes, also a coach's son.

From another thread

Louisiana Tech is 1-10 in their last 11 games against P5 opponents
But they are 7-4 ATS, with one outright win (back in 2014).
They have lost 16 in a row to ranked opponents by an average of 27 PPG.
And Skip Holtz is 1-12 vs. P5 teams, with the losses coming by an average of 21 PPG

Old guys remember when Fred Akers ran Lou Holtz out of the SWC.

Both are good men, though.

Herman is 0-2 in Texas openers but thankfully we arent playing east coast powerhouse Maryland this year so lets say Texas 45 La Tech 27.:hookem:

La Tech will be a great tune up game for the Horns. Getting it right for the LSU game.

Horns- 31
Terry's Boys- 14
