I didn't know tranny families were escaping Texas. And if they are, I seriously doubt they would need any protection to do so. In fact, I bet most Texans would gladly assist them to the Red River.

Exactly...the more loons that want OUT of Texas to go to Commiefornia, the better. I just feel sorry for the kids who are the victims of abuse by the parents who foist Munchausen by proxy upon them...a lifetime of regret will follow when those kids reach college age, and nothing the parents OR the medical community or even the legal community can do will EVER make them whole again.
 
So Lia swam slower than usual to finish 8th in the 100 final. Meanwhile a trans man (Henig) also competed and finished 5th. Noone seems to acknowledge the hypocrisy of a trans man competing against women.

Ive been told on good authority that if you're a trans woman you ARE a woman, so if you're a trans man you ARE a man, so why was a man competing against women? They say its because Henig hasn't taken hormone therapy yet, but are we to believe hormone levels are all that separate being a man from a woman? Say what? None of this makes any sense yet ESPN and the media just clap while the emperor stands there with no clothes.

There are gaping logical holes in every argument they make on this. I'm starting to think it's a trolling effort more than anything else - not necessarily by the people who do it but by the people who enable and celebrate it. Lia Thomas is screwed up in the head, but he's not the villain. He's a mentally ill person who needs help. The villains are the people who enable and celebrate this.

That the loons claim something does not make it true.

The female claiming to identify as a man CANNOT take testosterone or they would be disqualified for doping. Thus, they are still competing with female physiology essentially intact. A butch female is STILL a female.

The male claiming to be a woman, such as Thomas has done, benefitted from a lifetime of doping known as a male puberty.

The loony left refuses to acknowledge that biology doesn't just go away with a wave of the hand, but instead is a very real thing.

A butch female is still a female but Henig identifies as a man so by the definition of the left Henig is literally a man. Period. The end.

I wouldn't be surprised if the US regime starts to cancel the state of Florida if/when the Ukraine war dies down. They would basically aim the sanction system at Florida that they are using on Russia right now. If that happens maybe some of the conservatives on here will make the logical connection.

Doctors, lawyers, and everybody with a graduate degree win with student loan forgiveness, but they aren't the biggest winners. If I got my loans forgiven, it would save me about $350 per month (until 2032), and that would be nice, but it wouldn't be anywhere near a game changer. The real winners are the university and academic bureaucracy, many of whom make hundreds of thousands a year off of this racket and the contractors who work with them who are becoming multimillionaires off of it.

Bottom line is that the female playing dress-up outside of the pool is STILL a female who went through a female puberty and has not taken any testosterone.

I agree but I wish the logic of the left would apply it equally on the male side otherwise the only difference between men and women is their testosterone level.

Honestly, I could support some kind of loan forgiveness. It is a racket that the government enabled and promoted through artificial means to screw students. However, I'd never support it without a massive overhaul of how higher education works and is funded. The racket has to end first. If it didn't, we'd be right back here again in ten years or less.

I would support tuition rebates FROM THE SCHOOLS but not loan forgiveness. This burden needs to be placed squarely on the entities that precipitated it. The colleges themselves. I would support a cap on tuition rates for any schools that receive federal or state dollars for aid. The loans aren't too big, unless the tuition rate was first too excessive.

I disagree that it was done to 'screw students.'

The PROBLEM is students taking far more than they need to attend college to get a four-year degree. There are plenty of combinations of a JC and four-year school that come in around $100K for four years. Loans of that amount are not needed since one SHOULD have a lick of sense that was good enough to qualify for some manner of scholarships and grants BEFORE seeking out loans.

But even if we presume $100K in loans, there is no reason for those to even require a decade to pay in full. FFS, my last good size vehicle note was ~$64K and was paid in less than four years. I admit I have been slacking on the current note (~18K) and may actually take a year and a half before it is burned...

While you're not necessarily wrong, the system is taking advantage. Tuition spikes nationwide have coincided with the student loan growth. It's kind of like what I predict will happen when Oklahoma passes school vouchers. The voucher will be for $4,500 to apply to a private school. In turn, private school tuition will increase by approximately $4,500.

That is one aspect of the problem. Another aspect, and one in which it can easily be argued that students get screwed, is the number of degree plans offered by colleges that will never, ever be worth the $100K spent to obtain them.

But most of those useless plans could be weeded out by simply having students focus on the core curriculum during freshman and sophomore years.

After that, I lack sympathy for those too stupid to research their chosen field before diving headlong into the debt.
