The Pledge of Allegiance was created by Progressives as a way to condition children into identifying themselves with the government as a means to quelling critical thought about the bad things government does. The Anthem and the history should be learned as is more or less, because it teaches a traditional American identity without the automatic agreement with government edict.

She was a rather clever politician who had some funny zingers and one-liners. You know, the sort of humor that is rare from the left side these decades. Her opponent was an aggie and campaigned like an aggie.

Most of her appointees came from a box of rocks, and that's about how smart they were. An Ann Richards insurance commission appointee wouldn't let the American Automobile Association (AAA) into a state government insurance conference because 'This isn't a meeting about cars, it's for insurance companies.' ....
