Play Bowl Pick Em with Horn Fans!

Opt out Bingo. Some are firing their cannon for Western. Some still believe in the Wolfpack. I decided to sit this one out basically.
Yeah...
I moved Western Michigan up to #28 yesterday...then got cold feet today on leeriness of an overreaction to news on Nevada....
Turns out it wasnt an overreaction at all.
Have to settle for 12pts.
All the drama and uncertainty making this a real ride..

It is one thing to see a linebacker opt out...but when it is basically your offense that quits on the team, the home team picks up a decided advantage. A QB sitting out for non-injury reasons sucks the sails out of team...

There are some areas where I am seeing over-reactions play out, and that caught me in this week's pro schedule. Some games I expected to be blowouts were not. Seems at the NFL level, scrubs have talent...who knew? LOL!

Started the day where I ended yesterday with 219 points according to the site (I didnt count each line personally). Got 12 points on Western Michigan and total was 231 according to the site. Showed 231 for myself and IDE (great job on that WMU play to jump up there btw!) was in second with 230.
I went on the site a couple times in the afternoon to update a couple picks and saw the same.....231. Went on this evening to refresh my memory on a pick and it said I was in 2nd. .but showed me with 231 and IDE 230. Refreshed the page and it said I was in first but had 230 pts and tied for 1st with IDE. Went out and reloaded and still shows 230..tied for 1st. Manually added my lines and get 230...but makes no sense why it was 219 this morning and then 231 but now shows 230.
On a side (I think) note Ive noticed the software seems REAL glitchy this year. Anyone else noticed this?

Yeah I've noticed. Been weird from the start. I've got several picks coming up I'm not as confident in as point total suggests but you have to put them somewhere.

I'm right there with ya...
And the board keeps shrinking..for more reasons than one.

So now Boise St.-Central Michigan is cancelled and the leaderboard has changed again. How the hell does this effect the points of games already played? They need to go back to the old software or something.

Exist takes the lead the thru cancelations…Central Michigan is now in-the Sun bowl versus Wazzoo—-,replacing Miami.
These cancels are killing my plan!

I would guess that after a cancellation, the game is removed and, for example, a cancelled 25 point game moves the 26 point game into that slot.

The "covid issues" and cancellations are even worse than the software....which is only slightly better than the Auburn offense. SMH
Man, that hurt...

Good play, IDE...gutsy..
...though wareagle should have finished them there with the ball inside the 10 and a 3 pt lead. Big point swing on that one... Now know the pain of being a Tiger fan...must suck.
A few good players lurking with big pts left on the board.
May turn into a race to get on top and ride out clock on cancellations lol

Pts and rankings jumping all over the place this morning on mania site...even before new cancellations.
Strange year all around...kind of fun...kind of not
:hookem:

Not sure when they will update to put the game into the pool again, but Central Michigan and Wazzu are slated to play the Sun Bowl. I believe each of them had opponents chicken out, err I mean declare a COVID issue. This places the two that actually WANTED to play a game back on the schedule...

Well I did something brilliant. Managed to inadvertently switch my pick.to Louisville. Nobody's fault but mine. Carry on.

You are in better shape then me on that one. i switched my pick, too...wish it had been inadvertantly

MB, Creek, and a couple others looking good..lurking with quite a few pts still left on their board.

I went against my own gut and reasoning and bought "conventional" presumptions a few too many times. Always dangerous in bowl season.
Don't think Ive enough points or games left to fend off risers...and not sure about prospects to jump back past IDE.

I switched 4 games away from my own analysis being swayed by other voices...lost all 4...and deservedly so. Not doing that again...

Some of that was the slate of games that hit while I was traveling, so I didn't get some moves made...meant the wins were for very few points. And those five or six games were darts thrown without having really looked at the opt-outs or other injury-related issues.

Now what hurts are the games like last night where teams lay eggs and blow chunks...yeah, I am looking at the Pirate and I am looking at the couch-burners. WVU should have handled the gophers...I mean, c'mon man...they lost to Illinois!

Points still doin' funny things it seems?
Apparently 2+2 no longer = 4
Look at totals both on your screen and leaderboard before a game and then after and the end #s dont always jive
Fuzzy math??
I picture a bunch of young tech guys with pizza and beer in a room somewhere jackin around with their algorithms or whatever in real time trying to react to all the bowl changes and fix their programming mistakes. Whole system's wigged out now....or maybe its my brain fried from it all lol

Everything I know about algorithms can be written on the back of a small stamp with a big pencil but I know how to add. Previously you posted we were tied at 230. Next day that changed to me ahead 227-226. Then I won on Houston for 24 points. My new total became 244 not 251 as it should have. Something's rotten in Denmark.

Seems to be a glitch that they had to fix 2-3 times. Now it appears to be fixed. At least everyone’s points I checked seem to add up. The cancelled games are removed from the top points available.

Same here....numerous examples including yesterday where it showed we would be tied after Clemson result...but after the game we weren't.
I know a lot of the point recalibrating is being done when they remove a bowl game and agree with Creeks assessment above^^^^^. They are moving all games down one line after a CX and them going back and changing all prior points gained accordingly..retroactively. This still doesnt explain why numbers keep changing in real time both on point totals, on your personal board lines, and on your personal total at top of picks page. You can literally be looking at it and it change while on the page...as well as some lines and pts move.
My guess is they are working through kinks as Creek stated.
Oh well ...none of us will let it come between us....and I hope whatever is going on it ends up corrent in the end....sure it will.
My biggest issue is unrelated and will forever be the way Auburn "finished" that game, so I get what I deserve for riding them there. Those pts will haunt...
All the best...

Just looked for the first time today and, while it showed IDE with a 2 pt lead last night before/during game and me with a 27-22 point allotment advantage on ou...today only shows a 2 pt lead for me....So where is my missing point? Very similar thing happened before and after Clemson yesterday.

Oh well, IDE....I am not sure it will matter with Creek lurking right behind with those pts in his bag....

Not whining or complaining at all BTW on the "glitches "....just interesting and curious is all...worth noting...

Had I stuck with my first picks I would be close to first place. I kept reading about star players opting out and made a bunch of changes. Seems like the substitutes are playing their heart out. Forgot which game but all conference QB opted out and his replacement broke a bowl record. Maybe next year.
