Play Bowl Pick Em with Horn Fans!

Man, how did the Vols lose? And a toast to all of us that got Mack Browned....

Had Purdue as one of my lower picks- viewed it a toss up- until yesterday.
Switched it to Tennessee and moved it up on opt out/injury news just to burn 14 pts.
No big deal..we've all got those stories.
Looked to me like Tennessee got hosed there at the end. Tremendous effort by that RB. Not so tremendous effort by their coaches managing game/clock...

Heupel really screwed the clock. He could of gotten closer before the field goal. His hurry offense is a needless gimmick. They could of played slower and controlled more time of possession. Unfortunately it gassed his defense.

Someone should check on Vol horn 4 life.

Creek and IDE looking well positioned. I've got the right plays for the most part but not enough points to overtake anyone..almost out of ammo.

Vino still a shot but could be a two man race after these early games today.

Best to all...

On a side note...B1G looking weak.
Wouldnt bet a dollar on it but would also not be shocked to see Utah win later.

Thought I was doing pretty good but been falling like a rock the past couple of days. Lost all of the close ones. Next year big points will be used up early.

Made a slight run but fell back again. Congrats to the eventual winner and podium!

I wonder who’s gonna join me on the Podium?
Congrats, Creek. Very well done!
As for the podium...
I'm guessing #s 2-5 are all contemplating about the same thing/same fashion regarding the Championship game right about now...in regards to possible finishing position chances and how to play it.

As for me, I'd like them to both lose ..but wouldn't get any points for that pick.

Thanks, I'll give you all my victory speech after the podium is finalized.

Same here...
Had UGA as my pick all the way from start until 6pm...swapped to Bama just to keep pace and not be too cute. Knew had a decent chance to jump to 2 spot if I stayed, but, in the end, decided to play the odds.
No guts no glory, as they say....
And not sure 5 spot feels much different to me than 2.

Good move up on that pick, Vino. Way to go.

Congrats again, Creek. ...And to all up at the top. You are all real good at this stuff and the competition makes it fun.
Ill go lick my wounds and think about BYU and Jackson State and what might have been..lol
All the best...
:hookem:

Thanks Rain - I really wasn't paying attention to the points piece and just made my picks. Guess I stumbled my way in, but I'll take it.

Congrats Creek for the win!

Fell asleep when it was still a 9-6 snoozer. I had the winner of ALA/CIN as the winner of this one from the beginning...oh well. Perhaps I could have found a change given Metchie's situation, but I reached the point that I just didn't give a damn any longer...

I lost a lot of interest in bowls with the bogus cancellations last month. Aside from my week in Vegas, I just quit putting any real effort into keeping up with things...

'grats to the podium trio :fiestanana:

First off a shout out to all the Longhorn souls who competed in Bowl mania. It should be a larger number, but apparently people don't like to compete, can't handle defeat or the task is too large. Perhaps our culture-just kidding!
Secondly- Congrats to the Podium winners:
1st Gold: Creek (top 5% in the country)
2nd Silver: Vino Bevo- Rookie of the Year
3rd Bronze: ID EXIST- Mr Hornfans Consistent.

Now for my speech. This as you know has been a historic year for me and the games of Hornfans. I have never won one of these competitions until this year but I do have a some podium wins throughout the years.
Thus, this years record of
1st place: Hornfans-Texas longhorn Score season pick
2nd place: Espn weekly season Pick em Hornfans
1st place: Hornfans Bowl mania
Is a Record that will be hard (never?) to beat in Hornfans in a single year. And if it is, I will personally buy the sun uva bith a Handle of Jack Black and drive it personally to your town to deliver it to you.. Let me dance in the end zone hard, as I doubt I'll ever see it again and these were Big Time Picks. But I'll still compete.

My thanks to Georgia State, Fresneck State, Air Force, Sparty for not choking, Pigs, Woke Forest, T-U-L-S-A and of course Texas Tech (who I didn't pick but had the least points on Leach than anyone). Everything pointed to Georgia last night, but I changed it last minute to Bama as a toast to Saban. Of course, It didn't matter as the hay was in the barn and I was already smoking a Partagas on top of it.

Hats especially off to Rain Burnt O, who is definitely a tough player but blew his cannon too early and often, (which with 6 kids seems to be a trait). Nash 2 for beating her husband once again. MB 227 who got close in the middle, but was still looking for ghost Moneyline bargains that were hard to find.
VinoHorns who finished the highest ever betting straight through in order in the history of Hornfans, oh he will learn.... JKlaus Exclusive, who has a Weekly win banner and seems to be up at the front. Badass who up to this year was the man to beat. I still think he needs a coaching change. ID Exist who got another podium yet again and is the first dude I check to see who he picked. Horns In Murrietta who was better in Corpus. OleHorn fans with a late surge and in the conversation.
Till we compete again I bid you adieu. Perhaps next year we shall all meet in Vegas.

Congratulations to all for a fun Bowl Mania season. I look back at a few picks and say "how did I do that?" LOL.

One example : I went to the UTSA game against Western Kentucky. Bailey Zappe the Western QB was fantastic. His team is really supporting his career and I could not imagine them losing a bowl game. My intention was to put my highest point total on Western. I failed. Keep this guys name in mind. I am sure he will catch on with an NFL team. At the game I sat next to a Western offensive lineman's father. Talked about how good Zappe was.

Western Kentucky is a quality football team. They made App state look like Crap state.
I knew UAB was very good. Just didn’t think UAB could take out Young.

Time to join in if you dare! It is a confidence pick system. Pick the team to win and assign points to that team. Although we don't do banners we do track winners historically. And if you make it to the top 4 you get a mention, because it isn't easy.

Winners
2016: Badass
2017: Bevojoe
2018: Horn in Corpus
2019: Vol Horns for Life
2020: FB Expert 22
2021: Creek

Has any friends of Hornfans been ranked number one in the country in points? Two of us are for now.

The most frustrating thing about playing these games is when/if you make an error unrelated to actual picking ability. Forgetting to pick, etc.
I made one on Louisville today. Stuck it down somewhere with intent to look at it and pin down a pick....and somehow forgot about it completely...or, rather...didn't see it on the slate today and was shocked to see the game started.
It is 0-0 right now, but I can tell you I erred in not looking that over before start and would not have left the Birds as the pick with their starter out.
The replacement was BAD last couple times out.
If I lose by 7 pts Im gonna go Matt Campbell.
:brickwall:

Edit: lol....just peeked and of course Louisville is up 21-7. Better lucky than good.
Whatever
