Court looks good, didnt get pics from Center Court, but this is good enough.

Here is a look to see how insanely far away the "floor seats" are behind the basket. They start at the far right of the photo. I said it before, I knew this was going to happen. Im very glad I didnt buy them there.

Just another pic to see the curtain, etc...

The court is elevated about 2 1/2 feet, maybe more, looks kind of crazy. If they keep it set up the same the people on the bench are going to have their heads at court level. Also seems to be a bit dangerous is someone ended up running after a lose ball and loses control.

And the ENEMY!

One more time...

I would also like to say that I felt like I was in the upperdeck from the top of the lower level. I cant imagine how little the ants...err...I mean players are going to look from the 500 and 600 level. But overall a decent setup, about what you should expect from a football stadium.

That raised court is an excellent idea. Won't be a safety hazard for the players or anything like that.

And the depth perception problem won't be an issue at all for teams that rely primarily on their guards for points.

Ugh. That set up is just horrible. Who's the genius behind that? And then someone approved it: "Yeah, Chuck, that looks great. Bad depth perception, dangerous for the players and keeping the crowd far away from the game. Works for me."

Idiots.

ya, that pic looks really good. Im sure it will look awesome on tv, but it still doesnt take away the fact that the stands are FAR from the court.

On a side note, I can see myself in that pic....im the little burnt orange blur on the most right section of the fans. Sitting alone, over that guy standing in what appears to be a yellowish suit. Taking pics to bring to Hornfans!

Thanks for the pics, but seriously someone is likely to get seriously injured. At least once a game, somebody goes flying off the court. For instance, Damion's block near the end of one of our recent games. No way that guy stops himself from going off the that 3-4 foot drop.

That's an accident (and lawsuit) waiting to happen.

Our seats are mid-court in the club level. Even if I have to watch the video screens, I'm there to provide a home court advantage.

jbentley - you are not allow to talk to my wife about measurements. I've convinced her that objects are larger than they may appear.

Still I think you could do some serious damage falling off a 27" ledge at full speed. Hope I'm wrong.

My solution to that would be to just not try, much the same way I never dive in volleyball or softball games. Hopefully the Horns don't have my mental makeup.

Seriously, that is a PERFECT shooting backdrop. Assuming the rims have been used before, our marksmen are going to light it up tomorrow.

looking at that picture, that carpet doesn't look firmly set in place. I can see some guy go jumping off the court, landing on his feet on the carpet below, only to have his feet fly out from underneath him as the carpet slides under him resulting in a cracked skull on the corner of the court behind him.

i'm just sayin.

what's going to be even worse is when a poor cheerleader goes falling off the back of the court after somebody runs into her.

How much different is this from Minnesota's court or Vandy's court?

Also, the 'elevated court = greater views for fans' is about the most laughable comment I've ever heard.

Come on now, lets actually see how everything goes before we blast it. We will know tomorrow when we pack the place in burnt orange!!!

I don't need to wait to criticize something that sucks. There's no question that, in terms of being able to see what's happening on the court, fans watching on TV at home will win big time.

These kinds of arena venues are so ******* ridiculous it defies logic, rationale and every sense of the imagination. I just hope the guys can survive the visual gymnastics required to zero in on a hoop 10 feet off the ground and make a ******* shot or two or three in spite of the absurd situation.

This game is based on what the eye sees... it's constant flow of 3-dimensional perspective on the move, probably more complex than a hi-level game of billiards with it's delicate angles and ball spin required to master the table.

Now you add the visual incongruence of a ******* blimp sized arena.... Why don't they just run 360 / X-Box combat games on giant screen in the background from every possible direction and see if the players can focus on the basket with that going on... maybe add some strobe lights... super bright halogens. Make it a complete obstacle course.

I won't be surprised if both teams shoot in the low 30 percent from the field and about 60 percent from the free throw line.

Since the game is in Houston, it looks like they wanted to add a space theme to the game by inserting a black hole on one side of the basket.

Here's another angle on it .. pun incuded.

The NBA does not feel the need to do this. So why does the NCAA?

NBA playoffs take place in the standard arenas where the regular season games are played. They are made for the game, and the players are used to the visual dimensions.

If the million-dollar game does not require football stadium setups for championship play, why should the NCAA tinker with it?
