OTHER GAMES

Crazy Alabama catch for TD even though it was contested pretty well. This one is close to over, Georgia just can't stop them in the 2nd half.

Drops on both 3rd and 4th down by open receivers that would have put North Carolina in FG range. I was wrong. This wasn't Mack vs Oklahoma State, it was Mack vs Oregon, 2000.

From what I saw in this game. Mack gets a lot more out of his team than TH does his. Just one game though. Texas can go 6-0 in the B12. Will they have the effort?

AC?
Did you feel the NC team wanted to win? Did you feel same way about the Horns?
I wonder if the NC players were laughing and joking on way to locker room?

Notre Dame looked weak today but until I see the Big 10 and Pacific 12 actually get some games in, I'm not sure of many others who I'd rank higher. This is gonna really be an odd year where it's hard to pick the best teams.

They should have worked together to delay the CCG's and Bowls a bit more, allow for make up games (even cross conference) late for teams under a certain number of games, and expanded the playoffs for the one season only.
Yep. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens with aOSU this year. They’ve been among Bama and Clemson at the very top of the game, but missing half the season will leave them rusty.

No one at NC expects them to beat FSU, even when FSU is terrible. It's a school of mid-range expectations for their football team, and so is a great fit for Brown. It's like the Seniors tour for golf for him.

Did this happen?
Were they laughing and joking on the way to the LR?

10/24

the Big 10 gets going finally.

OU v TCU — Frogs at home. Sooners had better protect Rattler. Could be a barn burner as two very good coaches square off.

Clemson v Syracuse— the best Clemson team v the worst Syracuse team. Bloodbath.

Rutgera v Michigan State — Mich St with a salty defense prevails.

Army v Mercer - kind of like when our military took on Grenada.

UNC v NC State — Mack gets the Tarheels back on track vs a hated in state rival. NC State carries a number 23 ranking into the game. Mack with the home field.

Nebraska v aOSU —. Big ten teams will be rusty. Buckeyes have far better athletes and should prevail. Game at the Horseshoe.

KU vs KSU — The Number 20 Purple cats should roll over the 0-4 Jayhawks. The Jayhawks suffer a defeat reminiscent of the Lawrence raid by Quantrill.

FSU v Louisville — Could he interesting. I don’t take the Noles victory over UNC to mean they are now a really good team. Cardinals have the home field.

Auburn v Ole Miss. These two decent squads have suffered some close defeats. Somebody has to win. I’ll take AU on the road.

ND v Pitt — Tough Irish D prevails on the road vs a decent Pitt team.

Iowa’s v Purdue — An ugly game between two rust middle of the pack Big ten teams. Iowa in a close and ugly win.

Houston v Navy — Both teams look weaker than normal this year. Somebody has to win. Navy in a tight one.

Bama v Tennessee. — Vols hatred of Bama wont overcome the powerful Tide. Bama smashes them in the trenches and wears them down.

ISU v Okla St. — Two of the best teams in conference face off in Stillwater. Great coaching battle. Mullet prevails with his newly found stingy D.

Penn St v Indiana - cake walk for the evil empire.

LSU v South Carolina. — Underachiever LSU struggles be the Cocks.

Michigan v Minnesota - a very interesting game between number 18 and number 21. Rusty big ten teams square off in Minneapolis. Minnesota with the upset.

UVA v Miami — Manny gets back to his newfound winning game ways. King puts up some his numbers.

Cincy at Dallas (SMU) — Shane’s undefeated ponies (#16) take on the undefeated Bearcats (#9). Best match up in the State of Texas today. Obviously, this is Shane’s biggest test thus far this year. Go Ponies.

First series for OU in FW. Patterson’s Frogs’ pass rush disappears all of the sudden against OU. Rattler has all day to throw and picks them apart down the field A rush into the endzone.

OU 7
TCU 0

Rutgers strikes first. MSU looks a bit lost on offense. (Nothing new there—MSU has traditionally survived on a strong D).

Wow! Sack and fumble recovery by Rutgers. First and goal Rutgers already up 7-0.

Auburn powers it in after a sloppy looking drive to score first. 7-0. Uncharacteristically poor tackling by the Rebels near the goalline.

Van Zandt of TCU whiffs on a sack, then stays on the ground sulking and pounding the turf in frustration. Then he realizes Rattler hasn't thrown the ball yet, gets up, and can't quite get to him, allowing Rattler to eventually run for the first down. If Van Zandt had gotten back up immediately, he'd have gotten the sack on the second try.
