OTHER GAMES

40-27 with seven minutes left in the game. I don't think Louisville can stop Miami's offense enough to catch up.

And in their defense again, they were without their two RBs in last game, playing #3 and 4 on the depth chart. Did fairly well.
Definitely would have lost this one in the 4th qtr last year. Would love to see the program come around.

9/26

Finally a decent slate of games.

KSU v OU — The Cats may make it interesting for a while, but the Sooners will eventually pull away.

Kentucky v Auburn — Look for an interesting chess match defensive game on the “plains”. AU’s new OC could put a few more points on the board than the usual anemic Auburn offfense. AU comes out on top. (If any lurking Easterners want to see some REAL plains, go out around Lubbock some time.).

Miami v Florida State - King leads the Canes to a massacre of the Seminoles. FSU Coach Norvell also has the virus. Bad time for the Noles.

Ok State v WV — After a shaky start, the mullet tries to get the Pokes back on track. Don’t necessarily look for the expected classic Big12 offensive fireworks. OSU has big unanswered QB questions. Tough one to pick.

BYU v Troy — While this team isn’t yet like the great Cougar teams of old, they’re better than the Mormans have seen in quite a while. I’d expect them to roll over a lesser opponent.

Florida v Ole Miss — Lane Kiffin’s Rebels face a team with superior talent including Florida QB Kyle Trask. Gators win.

Louisville v Pitt — Louisville rolls over a weak Pitt D.

TCU v ISU — Frogs in a barn burner.

Miss St v LSU — It will be fun to watch the Pirate, but the Tigers have too much.

Georgia v Arkansas — This will be the great pig roast. It’s set up for the biggest blow out of the day. There’s bad, there’s real bad, and then there’s Arkansas. Hog transfer QB Felipe Franks will get to see what it’s like facing a grade-A D front with sorry blocking. The pig training staff will be busy this week.

Army v Cincy. An interesting struggle. A good Army option ground game v a good Cincy D. I’m taking Army.

Tennessee v South Carolina. Tennessee on paper. But South Carolina on the field at home.

That Lane Kiffin / Jeff Libby offense looks really good for Mississippi. Really maximizing the skills and talents of the guys they have, despite a pretty solid and athletic D on the other side.

Also, former OU tight end Joe Jon Finley is their passing game coordinator. Blake Gideon is their special teams coordinator. And their starting punter is named Mac Brown.

Kentucky was behind 8-7 to Auburn but had a first and goal. The Kentucky runner seems clearly over, but the refs rule him short. Replay lets it stand. Then, Auburn intercepts a short Kentucky pass at the goal line and runs it back 100 yards for an apparent pick six. But an Auburn player is called for targeting on a block during the return. No score! Still 8-7. End of first half.

Gators look a bit sloppy. Ole Miss looks like somebody else in those powder blue jerseys. Maybe a UCLA grad is running their equipment room.
:yes::smh:

Gators marching it down the field now with 25 seconds left until halftime.

Good coaching may make Ole Miss relevant If not this year, then soon.

TD Gators.

The receiver may have gotten away with a little push off Micheal Irwin style.

UF 28
Ole Miss 14

halfrime.

TCU missed a field goal. Not enough mustard and wide to the right. 0-0 early on.

Tough D by the Frogs. Near INT. 3 and out for ISU.

Frogs are using some huge splits between their OL. They could be vulnerable to quick DTs. They seem to be pounding the ground (with some big power backs) more than past Frog teams.

Patterson’s D plays with its characteristically sound fundamentals, showing some good tackling. ISU must punt again. 0-0.

Frogs move the ball to midfield on a cute reverse, run up the gut, and WR screen. Then they stalled out. It’s a D-dominated game thus far. 0-0 end of first q.

As expected, the Sooners are now pulling away. 28-7 OU. Early third q. Rattler is racking up some numbers in the air.
