OTHER GAMES

Longhorns need to get everybody healthy on the OL. OSU had a ferocious pass rush against Oregon - and their secondary seemed to cover receivers very well. Texas will need to establish some kind of running game next week.

Every team that got a bye has lost.
The break is too long for those who get the byes.

After they get rid of the CCGs, the order will evolve into the following all on campus (second team home team):
12 v. 1
11 v. 2
10 v. 3
9 v. 4
8 v. 5
7 v. 6
Then, bowls for the next two rounds, leading to the Championship Game, with the higher-ranked winner always being the home team.

Not possible. You'd go from 12 teams to 6 to 3. Somebody has to get a bye week. But...one week appears to be better than three.

If there has to be a "playoff" - eight teams determined by combination of legitimate polls. I'm old and like the Bowl System; it rewarded the best and others with "good seasons". Also added cash to athletic departments, although that could be considered for restructuring. (I hate UConn, but losing $3+ million for a "reward" (Fiesta Bowl) for their best season ever?

Why it should be 8, not 12, and no bye's. 12 is too many and makes the season go too long. If you can't make the top 8 you shouldn't be in the CFP.

Clemson, SMU, Boise and ASU shoulda never been there. Top 8 at the end of the season, period, no crappy teams from crappy conferences.

All us old guys remember we never root for ND,unless they are playing aggies and then it is hard to do. Gotta route for GA to pull the upset.

Is ND’s colors dark blue and gold or green and gold? I’ve been trying to figure that out for years.
The university's colors are blue and gold because it was founded by French order of Catholics (not Irish), and their colors are blue and gold. That's also why the school's name is in French.

The "Fighting Irish" mascot came later, and due to that, the team/fans wear green sometimes. It also happens to look good with blue and/or gold.

Well, they could be the Fightin' French Fries.... It ties in the Irish love of potatoes and the French love of pommes frites.
