If it was really just a safety thing, it would take more than 24 hours to secure the city (plus there's a safety downside to having an extra 50,000 people downtown instead of all within the stadium). But they know that postponing to the weekend would be too inconvenient - so they are already ok with a meaningful amount of compromise on safety for the sake of convenience, or at least the sake of less inconvenience than otherwise. Suggesting that the decision is actually primarily about optics.

Oregon may be done.
I think Ohio State is the best team right now.
Happy we get to play again though.
 
I think the month layoff for Oregon hurt them more than other teams. It hurt asu at the beginning but Texas didn’t take advantage, and asu is a power running team so the layoff doesn’t impact them as much.
 
The good news is we aren't playing in Atlanta so maybe we have a good running game next week. The bad news is if this offense shows up next week this OSU team will disrespect and violate Texas.
