OTHER GAMES

With nothing to play for, wounded SF is still giving the Lions all they can handle and leads 21-13 with about 6 minutes left in the first half. . . . Dan Campbell just cannot help himself. He goes for it on fourth and three in the red zone instead of taking the easy FG. SF holds, with a little more than a minute left in the half. . . . SF almost makes them pay. Good drive ends in Moody missing a 51 yard FG attempt. . . . SF leads 28-21 midway through the third. Neither team can stop the other. . . Just as I wrote that, SF holds Lions, sort of, --57 yard FG. . . . Lions intercepted SF and have blown them out from that point on.

I was in 7th grade, attending Lamar Jr High in Austin. Our TV was so crappy I usually couldn't tune in the Cowboy game, but the fine people at Hole in the Wall on the drag would let me watch with them. That is precisely where I was that day.

I was HS football JV fall 1969. My UT grad Dad splurged and bought a 19" Color RCA TV right before the BIG SHOOTOUT with arky on Dec. 6.

We were thrilled and thankful with the new view, but stressed out as HELL with the game but thrilled at the outcome!! 🤘

15- 14

Heroes: STREET, PESCHEL, KOY, BERTELSEN. FELLER with Campbell INT to seal the win!

I blame my poor eye sight on watching the little white spot fade away after turning off the old black and white tv. We thought we were in high cotton when Dad bought a Curtis Mathes console color tv. I don’t believe we could ever get colors correct on that thing, not to mention it seemed to stay in the repair shop more than in our living room.
Dad finally gave in and bought a 19” Sony Trinitron. We still had plyers at the ready just in case the channel selector broke.

Somehow I thought the CM was supposed to be more reliable than other brands

Bama looks awful.
Lots of dissention on that team. Watch the body language. Playcalling is only made worse by crappy execution. Milroe can't hit the broadside of my ***, and his receivers aren't giving him any help.

Somebody with talent put an "A" on the Aggie train because Alabama is a trainwreck; expect it from aTm, but not from Tuscaloosa.

I know we are all supposed to drink the SEC cool aide now but I am extremely happy to see Bama lose and I won't be cheering for any team just because they are in the mighty SEC. Not saying I don't or won't cheer for some fellow SEC teams when it benefits Texas but only if and when it benefits Texas and today Bama losing benefits Texas, recruiting-wise, influence wise and ultimately in moving the center of power in the SEC out of Tuscaloosa.

Texas is in the SEC because it is a business arrangement, nothing more and unlike aggy I don't get any puffed up with pride from some other school winning just because that school happens to be in the same conference as Texas.

There should never be an "SEC SEC SEC chant from Texas fans except to make fun of aggy."

Yep. Glad to see them lose. And, if it matters, it helps finally make our win at Ann Arbor look a bit better since dipshits everywhere thought Bama should have made the CFP.

I hear you, and I’m on the same page. Today I’m cheering on the Fighting Illini against the gamecocks (but only because my dad got a BA there almost 80 years ago).

Chief Illinewek rocks!
