OTHER GAMES

I didn’t watch any games after ours…
I watched (mostly) the Clemson-SMU game, just to decompress. And when that was over, I switched over to TBS to watch the last 30 minutes of The Wizard of Oz, just so I can catch the scene where the Wicked Witch of the West gets splashed with water and whines that she's melting, at which point I yell at the TV "YOU'RE NOT MELTING, DUMBASS, YOU'RE DISSOLVING!!!"

OK, maybe that's a distinction without a difference, but somehow it was therapeutic to exclaim that.

Dicker the kicker just nailed another fg to put the chargers up 17-16 on the chiefs.
Worthy with a big 3rd down catch to keep the chiefs drive alive.
Mahomes has chiefs driving with 3:20 left.

It all comes down to a short FG try by their third kicker. . . Good (barely). At 12-1, the Chiefs clinch their ninth straight divisional title (second only to the Patriots' 11 straight in their glory years). They also have won 15 one score games in a row--an all time NFL record.

Dallas v Cincy on MNF. Announcers note that the backup kicker for Cincy started the season with Washington but was cut after he missed his first two kicks. He's been looking for a job since then. Landed on Cincy's practice squad and was elevated this week because the starter was out with a groin injury. Comes in to kick his first extra point, and the announcers note it's nervous time for him and the coaches. He kicks the extra point, but the team is called for too much time, so he has to try again from 5 yards further out. It's good. Then the camera switches to a close-up replay of his girlfriend, a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, watching the kick, then looking at the heavens and mouthing "Thank you, God," and then turning to one of her fellow cheerleaders and saying: "Thank goodness." ;)

Well, the Dallas Cowboys are trailing at half, 17-10. Joe Borrow is 19-26, 207 yards, 2 TDs - and has not been sacked! I'm not seeing any way the Cows can win this game. I'm seeing a 7-10 record, no playoffs, and a middle-of-the-pack draft pick. But the draft pick won't matter, anyway - Jerry will find a way to botch it. :brickwall:
